room opaque. Dressing rooms would recognize what was brought in by wirelessly reading the tags on each garment
and make recommendations of matching accessories as well as similar products that patrons might consider. Staff
sporting PDAS could check the inventory of any item similarly customers could directly check inventory of any
item they are interested. There is a camera in dressing room that allow customers to see their front and back view
side-by side as they tried on clothes.
All this appeared glossy, but execution of the vision was terrible. It was difficult for customers to understand the
foot pedals that controlled the dressing room doors and displays. Also on a number of occasions systems reported
items as out of stock even though they weren't because the inventory database would be inaccurate. The staff were
given PDA to check the inventory but they didn't really use them anymore and put them away so tourists don't play
with them. It won't be wrong to say that the investment in Prada's investment on in-store technology was also
simply too high, with estimates suggesting the location took in just one-third the sales needed to justify expenses.
