CLINICAL SCENARIO Buboy age 25 had multiple stabbed wounds on his extremities, his legs are drenched in blood and the ER nurse noticed that there is a deep lacerated wound on the diaphragm area of the patient. The ER nurse took Buboy’s vital signs, BP=90/70mmHg, RR = 21cpm (shallow), CR = 110 bpm (palpable). Further assessment revealed that his difficulty of breathing is brought about by the wound near the diaphragm area. His officemate who accompanied him in the hospital said that Buboy recently had been fired by his employer because of his hospitalization he had an argument with a drunken co-worker which led him to be stabbed several times.
