Step 1

The azimuth angle is the angle measured clockwise from any reference meridian. They vary form 0 degree to 360 degrees.

The bearing is the angle taken in the reference from north or south and the angle to the east or west from the north-south meridian.

The conversion of bearing to azimuths can be done by following relationship.

For NE quadrant azimuth is equal to bearing.

For SE quadrant azimuth is equal to 180° - bearing.

For SW quadrant azimuth is equal to 180° + bearing.

For NW quadrant azimuth is equal to 360°- bearing.

The bearing S28°41’E is in second quadrant. So, azimuth is equal to 180°-28°41’ = 151°19’.
