Define laminar flow and turbulent flow.
Laminar Flow:
Laminar flow is a category of flow classified on the basis of different parameters of the flow. It is achieved when the velocity of the flow is constant, each and every particle follows a smooth path, and the intersection of paths of different particles is not allowed. Another term used to represent laminar flow is streamline flow. Laminar flow can be seen in the cases where the outlet's diameter is small, the moving velocity of flow is very low, and friction between the surfaces of the fluid layers is very high.
Turbulent Flow:
Turbulent flow is another category of flow that doesn't move on a straight path and also intersects the paths of different particles. When the velocity of flow is variable and continously changes due to the movement of fluid, this flow is categorized as turbulent flow. Due to the change in pressure or velocity, turbulence is caused, which results in a turbulent flow. When the diameter of the outlet and the velocity is considerably large, then the flow will become turbulent.
