Describe how the Down Syndrome interacts with the cell membrane?
Expert Solution
Down syndrome - Introduction

Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the trisomy of chromosome 21 in an individual. This occurs due to abnormal cell division in a cell where one of the daughter cells gets an extra copy of chromosome 21 in its cell. This leads to serious developmental and physical issues in the affected individual. It causes a delay in physical growth, slow intellectual development, and typically characteristic facial features like slanted eyes, abnormal teeth, Protruding tongue, etc.  It has no cure. If this disease is detected in early pregnancy, then that pregnancy is generally aborted.
