Step 1

Hormones are the chemical messengers that are secreted at distant and will regulate systems and processes. Hormones are released into the blood stream and will reach the target area through circulatory system. After reaching to the target site , hormone will bind to the receptor and signals the nucleus to bring out the required change.

There are two types of hormones

Lipid soluble: These hormones can cross the plasma membrane, hence most of their receptors are present in the cytoplasm.
Water soluble: These hormones cannot cross the plasma membrane and hence binds at the receptor present at the plasma membrane. This binding with activate the secondary messenger inside the cell that will take the signal to the nucleus and will bring out the required change.
