Explain how a hair forms.
The keratinous protein filaments that grow in various regions of the body from the follicles found in the skin's dermis layer are known as hair. They are external structures located on the skin in the head, limbs, armpits, pubic regions, face, and chest region.
The hair follicle base is formed by the hair bulb, which contains epidermal stem cells. These cells divide and grow. During the cells' division, the older cells are pushed towards the skin surface from the follicle. In the hair bulb, the cells are nourished by the blood vessels and receive various hormones for growth and modification. Pushing away from the cells towards the skin surface will make these cells distant from the blood supply, eventually leading to death. These dead cells become keratinized and form the hair shaft. The growth of hair after their formation occurs in three phases: the anagen, catagen, and the telogen.
