Explain the difference between steady state and variable state of a thermal conductor.

The definition of a steady state is an unchanging condition, system or process that remains the same over time. Steady state for a thermal conductor is achieved when the heat transfer or heat flow is constant, i.e. Heat flow in and out of the system is contant.
