Question

How many moles of oxygen are needed to react with 160 gg of hydrazine?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Hydrazene is N2H4  and oxygen is O2

There is single replacemet reaction possible

N2H4 + O2 = N2 + 2 H2O

Above reaction shows one mole of hydrazene requires one mole of oxygen requires

Molar Mass  of hydrazene is 32.04516

Molar mass of Oxygen is 31.9988 Approx  32.00

Given that 160 gm of hydrazene is there so number of moles = Given Weight of Hydrazene / Molar Mass

                                                                                                   = 160/32.04516

                                                                                                   =  4.9929 moles
