I- Hello, I would like to put in a page for Dr. Colson please, thank you.

Hello, I'm Lady Heart. I'm the nurse taking care of the patient Ms. Shiela Roe in room 164.

S- I am calling because the patient Ms. Roe, a five-year-old child, complained of abdominal pain and cramps.

B-. Ms. Roe was referred this morning because of recurrent watery diarrhea, abdominal pain, and flatulence. At one year of age, the patient was admitted for recurrent bronchitis, otitis media, food refusal, mild diarrhea, and abdominal distension since weaning. A sweat chloride analysis excluded cystic fibrosis. At that time, the patient's laboratory results showed increased C-reactive protein (139 mg/L; reference interval, <5 mg/L) and moderate leukocytosis (14.6 × 109/L; reference interval, 4.5–13.5 × 109/L). Values for all other variables were within the reference intervals. Since then, the patient has experienced recurrent abdominal pain, mild diarrhea, and occasional nausea. Stool samples were repeatedly analyzed for pathogenic bacteria without consistent, relevant results. A physical examination revealed abdominal distension, but the findings for the patient were otherwise unremarkable:

This following are here current vital signs:

  • Blood pressure, 112/62 mmHg
  • Temperature, 36.2 °C
  • Height, 110cm (43.3 in, 38th percentile)
  • Weight, 19 kg (41.9 lb, 48th percentile), pain, and flatulence this morning

A- I think the patient is suffering from chronic diarrhea.

R- I would like you to meet the patient as soon as possible for a thorough assessment. Is there anything more I should do in the meanwhile, or anything you'll require for your evaluation?
