Projectile motion is an example of two dimensional motion. Why?

Expert Answer

Step 1

The motion of a particle when the particle is thrown near the earth surface forms a curved path under influence of force due to gravity only. Such motion is called as projectile motion.

While analyzing the projectile motion it is considered that the force acting on the object is force due to gravity of earth only.

Step 2

To understand consider a general projectile motion and draw its velocity and acceleration diagram.
