Question

I've been in algebra for years and I've never been able to wrap my head around anything past solving exponential functions using the ac method. I can get to -16t2+t-48 but I can't get a remotely correct answer on any question like this because I guess I struggle with executing the quadratic equation. I'd really appreciate the help, so thank you in advance.
