In contrast to conventional Classical Optimization Strategy (COS) of one varying factor at a time RSM can examine more than one factor at a time at different levels to determine interaction between two or more factors. RSM is a statistical technique used to design experiments and evaluate interactive effect among variables and optimize fermentation medium.
