Why does cot(pi/2)=0? Because cot(x)=1/tan(x), I assumed that because tan(pi/2)=undefined, then 1/undefined is also undefined. Perhaps this has to do with a limit as x approaches 0 of 1/1/x which equals zero. I'm having trouble connecting the picture attached to the unit circle, how I go from the undefined y-axis with tangent, to the 0 x-axis when in terms of cotangent.
