Expert Solution
Developmental Cascade:

Developmental Cascade:

Developmental cascades refer to collective influences on the development of the various connections and transactions in processes that extend across levels between domains at the same level and across different structures or generations. In theory, these results can be specifically and unidirectionally, directly and bidirectionally, or indirectly, in a number of ways, but the implications are not temporary.

In the above given answer choices, correct answer is - All of the options listed here are correct.

The development of sex and gender is a good example of a developmental cascade because of the following reasons:

  • Prenatal Development is defined as the development that starts from a single cell  into a human embryo then lastly into a fetus. Both external and internal elements are in the male genital system. External male organs are penis, urethra and scrotum. The seminal vesicle, vas-deferens, epididymis, kidney, bulbus and ejaculatory tract are found in the internal male genitalia. Both X and Y chromosomes lead to the development of testes during prenatal development and that may not lead to typical male genitalia if certain hormones are present later in the development. Hence, this shows that it is an example of developmental cascade.
