Some of the researched types of phytochemicals are antioxidants, including vitamin E and C, and polyphenols which include flavinoids like resveratrol, catechin, and quercetin. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables provide a number of phytochemicals. They may help to reduce the risk of blood clots, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
