What are the tensile forces?

Expert Solution
Tensile Force Definition:

Tensile force is the force applied on a material which stretches the material. The tensile force creates tension on the material and increases the length of the material. Due to the tensile force there are two phenomenon that occur in the material -

(1) Tensile Stress: It is the tensile force applied on the material per unit of area.

(2) Tensile Strain: It is the fraction of the increase in the length to that of the initial length of the material.
