INTRODUCTION:

NERVE FIBRE:

Nerve fibre or axon is a long slender like projection of a nerve cell or a neuron. It conducts electrical impulses known as action potential, away from the nerve cell body.

Each axon is surrounded by a layer of connective tissue known as endoneurium. Axons are grouped into bundles called fascicles. And each fascicle is covered with a connective tissue called perineurum.
