What is environmental microbiology? (Please define in your own words.)

A branch in the field of biological science that deals with the microorganisms (unicellular, acellular, or multicellular living things) is referred to as microbiology. Microbiology encompasses two major fields, namely pure and applied microbiology. Pure microbiology is based on the taxonomical classification and integrative characteristics of the microbes. The applied microbiology is based on the application of the microbes which includes numerous sub-disciplines such as medical, industrial, environmental, agricultural, food, aquatic, and pharmaceutical microbiology.
