Introduction
A type of cell that receives and sends messages from the body to the brain and back to the body is called the nerve cell or neuron. A neuron is covered by neurilemma and is made up of two regions known as cyton and cytoplasmic extension. The cyton, also called the cell body, contains granular cytoplasm with many networks of neurofibrils. In the cyton, several cell organelles like mitochondria, Golgi complex, and nucleus are present. Neurons are classified into three types on the basis of function, which is sensory, motor, and intermediate neuron.
