Expert Solution
Step 1

Diabetes mellitus/diabetes is a condition in which the body is unable to produce enough insulin from the pancreas.

Insulin is a proteinaceous hormone composed of two chains alpha and beta. They are secreted from the beta cells of langerhans present in pancreas. The role of insulin is to convert the glucose level in the blood to glycogen which generates energy for the muscle cells.

If the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin, the glucose level will increase in the blood, causing  heart problems, high blood pressure and damaging the kidney.

Step 2

The normal amount of glucose in urine is 0 to 0.8 mmol/L (millimoles per liter) this level demonstrates that kidneys are preventing the passage of glucose down the Bowman capsule.

The patients suffering with diabetes have high glucose level in their blood due to which, there is a chance excess glucose may develop load on the bowman capsule which allows the entry of glucose in kidney. If the excess glucose is not reabsorbed by the proximal and distal tubules the level of glucose rises in urine more than the normal range which can cause kidney disorder causing, fatigue, weight loss, dehydration, frequent urination. This condition is called glucosuria.
