Expert Solution
Step 1 Introduction

Algal bloom : It is an accumulation of algae in freshwater or marine water systems. During algal bloom there occurs discoloration in water bodies . There occurs both macroscopic multicellular organisms like seaweed and microscopic unicellular organisms like cyanobacteria. Rapid growth of microscopic unicellular algae cause algal bloom.

Kelp Forest is an example of macroscopic algal bloom. Nitrogen and phosphorous coming from various sources cause excessive growth of algae in water bodies which affects the whole ecosystem.

Algal blooming starts when water bodies start warming and this starts from the spring season, but the productivity increase in summer season.
