  • T1 and T2 are the tension in the right and the left cables respectively.
  • W is the weight of the bird feeder.

From Equation (I),

T2=1.732T1                                                                (II)

Substitute Equation (II) in (I).

T1sin30ο+(1.732T1)sin60ο=W

On Re-arranging,

T1=Wsin30ο+(1.732sin60ο)

Substitute 150 N for W in the above expression to get T1
