I believe that the imagery and symbolism used to transform the poem because it lets the reader visualize what is happening and what the person is thinking. The poem mostly had literal imagery, as the poem stated what it wanted the reader to imagine. The most important symbol was of course the wall which signifies an obstacle or hindrance in life which one must overcome. Throughout the poem many symbols are used to signify overcoming the wall. and these range from simple things to weapons of war.

First a brief summary, this bit is prefaced by King Agamemnon saying the Greeks should pull out and retreat, then the quoted passage that follows is Odysseus berating him for a solid block of text which I believe supports my  aforementioned theme and in historical context is slightly scary. I really enjoy this passage as it is another passionate line from a famous Greek hero. The diction is extremely poignant, and filled with disgust. The word "wretch" alone is laughable. Looking at this from a

The reading passage focuses on some carved stone balls, which have been dated to 4000 years ago. The materials presented by the author provide three possible functions of these balls. On the other hand, the lecturer finds all the ideas dubious and presents some evidence to refute them all. Firstly, the passage argues that some evidence on balls can be interpreted as the point that they could be exerted as weapons for hunting or fighting ends. On the contrary, the speaker explicates that they should

My first thought while reading “1943” was that this poem is about WWII. The first line confirms that the poem is centered around war. Hall began to compare training for the war to football practice in highschool, “They toughened us for war. In the high-school auditorium Ed Monahan knocked out Dominick Esposito in the first round.” I don’t believe they are used as central idea, but I believe the author uses them as a device for making the reader feel a connection to them poem by using characters

To do this, there have been visits to said churches to see what goes on, this is like a large scale of the participant observation methodology. This was a very useful in developing an understanding for how different churches of the same denomination were

They all make vows, knowing they will be persecuted and made fun of for their beliefs more than laypeople. Yet, they all follow their vocations to express their love for God. Priests express their love and devotion for God by calling more people to love and be with God. After they bring those people into the Church, they
