Statistics show that on February 2017 it was reported that from 2016 Monarch Butterfly's population count, which was just about 150 million butterflies, nearly one third of that population decreased.As a matter of fact, these are the results of our actions like climate change, poaching/farming, pollution and the destruction of their habitats. As a result , it is a priority that the public is aware of these certain situations, so that we can fix the problem with climate change with some possible solutions

The monarch population has decreased up to about 22 million from last year to this year. (Rice) The monarch butterfly is an insect that is beneficial to the ecosystem ;however, their population has decreased over the years. Poaching and farming have caused this declination ,but there are solutions we can work with that may help the population increase once again. The Decline of Danaus Plexippus The Danaus plexxippus, also known as the Monarch butterfly, is spread all throughout North America during various parts of the year. In the summer they can migrate as far north as Canada, and during the winter months they can migrate as far south as Mexico. Because Monarchs cannot withstand low temperatures, they make use of different habitats during summer and cold months. They spend the spring, summer and fall months in various places throughout the United States
