captured, Mark Antony made a statement saying Brutus “was the noblest Roman of them all”. This may have had been true but Brutus was not a sympathetic character, after all he was the one of the eight who killed Brutus without regret after doing so. If brutus was sympathetic he would of cared much more than he showed. He later joined Cassius against Antony, over who should rule Rome. When Antony says about Brutus being the noblest Roman of all he doesn't deserve such praise. Brutus doesn't

I would have to agree with Antony in saying that Brutus "was the noblest Roman of them all. Not only is he smart but he only conspired against Caesar for the sake of Rome. He believes that Caesar was not a good leader and had too big of an ego. Other characters acted out of their own selfish reasons like greed and their want for power. Brutus truly loves his country and is devoted to it and it's people but this strong devotion may also be his weakness. Since Brutus is so devoted to Rome this allows

refers to Brutus as the noblest of all. He really is what Antony calls him ironically: "an honorable man." Because honorable and honest people tend to suppose that others also live by their standards, he trusts Cassius and lets himself be convinced that Caesar must die to preserve democratic rule in Rome. To him, the killing of his friend is a sad but necessary sacrifice, and his well-intentioned mistake destroys him. At the end, Antony says of him, "This was the noblest Roman of them all. I don’t

“Even the noblest men can be seduced by power; it has the power to kill, to distort, and to corrupt” Through this passage, Matthew Sims captures in essence how individuals often turn to betrayal and deception in order to gain their heart’s desires. This characteristic is not only present in life, but can also be seen in modern and classical literature, including the well known work of Julius Caesar. In Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, the lust for power transcends any one individual and ultimately leads

At the end of William Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar, it was Marcus Antonius that said upon Marcus Brutus' death, "This was the noblest Roman of them all...". I would have to agree with that statement for many reasons. Though, what I've seen as his strengths, there are some that also serve as his weaknesses. Brutus lives by a strict moral compass and code of ethics entwined with a rigid sense of idealism. All of which are great virtues but are also deadly flaws. Brutus acts out of a desire to limit

In “Julius Caesar” there are many noble Romans that come about throughout the play. The most noble Roman that was in the whole play is Mark Antony.
