    1. Tenzin Gyatso was born on July 6th 1935 in Taktser, Qinghai, Tibet. He is known as the 14th also the current Dalai Lama. He was selected as the rebirth of the 13th Dalai Lama at the age of 2 and was officially recognized as the 14th Dalai Lama on 17 November 1950 when he was 15.
