Do you think children should be responsible for cleaning their classroom for 15 minutes a day? I think students should not be responsible for the basic cleaning duties like sweeping and dusting for fifteen minutes a day in their classrooms. This would cause instructional time lost, janitor’s jobs lost, and kids with allergies and physical limitations should not do this.
I personally feel that we have been conditioned and trained since elementary school to pick up our own trash. We already have table washers at lunch and if we spill anything we go get a mop and wipe it up. If we add an extra 15 minutes a day doing these simple things that we already do, it’s just a waste of instructional time lost in the day. These 15 minutes really add up
Take a moment to imagine the realization that a young boy came to when two of his favorite movies had a large plotline that was somewhat based on the problems of trash. Wall-E, the famous Pixar movie, was based on a small robot that was left behind on Earth’s surface alone. His job was to clean the garbage that the human population left behind when they went into space to escape their problems. Toy Story 3, another Pixar movie, contained a scene with garbage that was vital to the plot, in which the characters are rescued from a trash furnace that was consuming literally tons of trash a minute. These two movies tried to make the American population aware of the ever growing trash situation, however, Americans quickly forgot about the Earth shattering situation that they are causing. The solution to the world’s trash problem is easy; people need to be educated on the problems of trash and given an easy way to fix it. People should be required to visit a landfill, educated on the severity of the trash problem, and should be rewarded for changing their habits to improve the problem.
Imagine someone tossing a cigarette out of their window. That cigarette gets blown onto someone’s yard and is eaten by their pet. That pet could become seriously sick because of someone else's laziness. According to www.kab.org, over 51 billion pieces of litter land on U.S. roadways each year. That is just roadways. For that cleanup, America spends 11.5 billion dollars each year. 9.1 billion of those dollars are paid by businesses, with the other 2.4 billion being paid between schools, government, and other organizations. Another reason why if all this littering could be disposed of properly, America would have much more money put toward other important
By cleaning up the trash in the community is one way of giving back and will change them dramatically by thinking that people do care about it. It could be really helpful because we would have so many trash in our yards, highways, streets, parking lot, schools, and
In school, I sometimes see my classmates play the paper, like make an airplane or a snowball. And throw to somewhere in the classroom, because their job is to study not clean the classroom. So they feel comfortable to do that and ehance the cleaner's work. They shouldn't deserve it.If you clean the classroom, I think you are allowed to do that. But the truth is you don't clean the classroom at all.And the paper wasnt written anything by.The most important thing is about the cost.If everyone in school waste a paper every day.It will be around 1200 papers a day, which means we are giving the school a lot of pressure. And it cost alot too.It will finally go to students' parents' house propreity tax."Evil will be recompensed with evil."
On Monday, we continue to do the floor stretches which it helps me a lot because I feel that I am stretched well enough to do anything. After the stretches we all went to the side to practice pique turns. I kept spotting the whole time, so I won’t get dizzy when I was turning. We also tried our right and left leaps across the room. Then we tried the open side leap in which I master, but I still have to bring it higher like the rest of my classmates.
Tears running down my rosy cheeks, sobbing and not being able to catch my breath. Shaking my head, “why, why, why,” I thought to myself. I had waited three days before the due date, to start my project, which was not the best idea. A lesson I would share with elementary schoolers would be, not to wait until the last minute to start something. Starting on things earlier, allows you to ask questions, there will be more time to perfect it and you will be less stressed.
At St. Anne School, the lunch lines are too long, and since there is extra money in the budget, the school should invest in an army of chef and waiter monkeys. Although this is an unusual idea, it may be of some use. After a long day with possibly no breakfast, people may need to wait 15-30 minutes to get served at one of the three currently available hot lunch windows. This may not seem like a long time, but middle school students are incredibly impatient and whiny, so to one of them, it is. After the 15-30 minute wait, there are only about 15 minutes left to either eat your lunch in the cafeteria or go to a classroom to do something, such as an Accelerated Reading Test or makeup work. Also, because of the long wait, many students miss
Praying during school hours is perceived as a larger problem than it should be displayed as. Many people do not base their daily life on asking someone to stop praying, or contributing to what they have beliefs in. Questioning the ability for others to have their own opinions, beliefs, and thoughts is not what America has been brought up to be. Students and teachers should not be forced to change their daily life because of what others beliefs are.
To obtain experiences in other level I have been completing hours on the weekend and taking personal time from work. So far I have accomplished my 15 hours at central office and 15 hours in High School. The only levels I have left are elementary and non-profit. My goal is to have all levels done by
My third reason for believing something should be done about the trash on campus is that trash can cause very unhealthy environments, especially in schools. My first source was the survey I sent out. Two of five people said that trash can pollute environments and carry germs. I think this is very bad! This means that trash doesn't pollute one environment, it can pollute most of the environments around it! My second source for trash polluting environments was www.ducksters.com. This site said that “land pollution can be one of the most visible types of pollution. You see trash outside of buildings or on the side of the road (that part made me think about the trash on campus). You may see a large landfill or dump. This type of land pollution
Will extending the school day really help? If they do raise the time for school, that extra time should go towards our lunch.
Clearly, school days shouldn’t be extended. It’s tough enough with 6 ½ hours of school, so why add additional hours to it? We are lead to this opinion because students are getting stressed, schools need to pay a lot of money to pay teachers and for supplies to last the extended hours, and the students don’t have enough time to do other
Believe it or not you don't want anyone to litter. We all say how beautiful this earth is but we do not appreciate it enough to just put the trash where it goes. It affects all of our lives, and will affect us for years to come. All of this because of our poor judgement and actions. People are ignorant to the harm they are doing to the planet. Even throwing your gum out the window of your car plays a part in littering and pollution. Littering play a major part in our lives. Everywhere we walk and drive there is trash on the side of the roads, being thrown out windows, and dangling from tree limbs. Millions of children see this every day. What kind of example are we setting for the children? If we begin to help in even the smallest of ways, we can change this. We could make the earth a better place. Our health would improve and not everything we touch would be made from un-recycled materials that would sit in a landfill for years. 9 billion tons of litter ends up in
American citizens throw away millions of tons of garbage each year, and this trash has to go somewhere. While there are projects underway to clean and reuse this refuse most of it gets dumped into huge landfills. These landfills are disgusting festering blisters on our country's landscape. But people continue to consume and throw away more and more in the name of convenience. As they see it, when things get old, throw it away and get a new one. They blame the government for the trash problem, but the truth blame should be placed on themselves.
It is evident that even students of elite schools throw garbage on the ground even in the presence of garbage bins. This shows our attitude towards cleanliness and hygiene.
