“Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases.” –Hippocrates, 460-377 BC. If a Greek physician could make this statement over 2300 years ago, why is it such an under-exposed theory today? As stated in Chiropractic First, written by Dr. Rondberg, a chiropractor of 35 years and founder of the “Chiropractic Journal,” Hippocrates “believed that only nature could heal and it was the physician’s duty to remove any obstruction that would prevent the body from healing” (8-9). I love to tell stories about my childhood. Looking back now, through all of my life’s experiences, it almost feels like I was living in a fairy tale. It brings both joy and sadness to my heart when I share these memories with my daughter. The joy comes from remembering how things were back then and how those things impacted my life today. The sadness comes from knowing that she will never get to experience those things, therefore, she will only get to live them through me. Even now as a young woman, she will say to me from time to time, “mom, tell me a story about the Good Ole Days”!
The 1980s was a time where a lot of change took place. Some of these changes were pretty quirky including the movies, music, fashion, and politics of the time. Most people were ready for something different and that is what the 1980s presented. It became eccentric with music and fashion from Madonna and Cyndi Lauper, bands like Guns n’ Roses and Metallica, Reagan’s changes to the economy, Nintendo, and bright colors and big hair. The impact of this decade continues on in today’s society.
Full house was introduced as an American sitcom about a group of friends help their friend, Danny, raise his kids after his wife passes away. The show first aired in 1987, presenting camaraderie as the years go by. In 1995, unfortunately they have announced of the final episode will air that year. As kids growing up, watching Full House was a gateway of our problems, and to compare theirs to our own. Netflix in 2016, announced they will be airing Fuller House as their spin-off. Bringing the classic series back, is also nostalgic of everyone’s childhood. Realizing how much the show is like your older sister. Hearing Stephanie Tanner saying, “how rude” again is reliving their youth. Dancing to same theme song, I’m reliving my childhood, it will forever have a place in everyone’s heart.
Everyday we are all in trying to be persuaded into believing something using media and the government, as don’t in George Orwell’s novel, 1984 manipulation is used by the government to persuade the citizens that their leader, Big Brother, is portraying to be. For which ever reason information is manipulated, it is still a form of attempting to persuade opinions. In many forms people manipulate information in hopes that they will gain something, whether it be to gain power or to try and convince people that something or someone is correct. September 11th 2001 is one of the most terrifying, tragic, and most talked about days in the history of the United Sates. Although the official story was given out to the public many people question the

People could now watch music instead of just listening to it.
I feel at age 20 you would feel more pressed for time to do all of the things that you wanted to do with your life. Many 20 year olds are usually in college starting their careers and lives, why would they want to be worrying about something that would not possibly happen until 50 years later? They would live there mid-life crises at a much younger age knowing that they have a predetermined end. I just feel that they would be living rushed lives in a sense because they know they have limited time, where as if you did not know when your life would begin to deteriorate you might experience life at a more steady pace.
In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
Sitcoms have been one of the most popular and influential television genres for years on end. From some of the oldies like I Love Lucy to some of the more recent ones like New Girl , this genre succeeds in appealing to all people through eye catching drama, witty comedy, and lighthearted romance. Almost all viewers are guilty of singing their favorite theme songs or throwing out some popular catchphrases from some of their beloved characters on the show. The television show Friends, which aired in 1994, is still one of the most watched sitcoms in history. Even though the show ended in 2004, reruns still play on T.V and Netflix has even added the show to its database because of its undying popularity. Even a bit older than Friends, Full House aired its first episode in 1987 and its last in 1995. This shows popularity and influence prompted a continuation of the show, Fuller House, that is currently in production more than twenty years later. Both sitcoms of Friends and Full House demonstrate how the sitcom genre, along with the sub-genres associated with it has had and continues to have a tremendous influence on pop culture.
