Many people believe that Noah Webster would strongly agree with these words. Noah Webster is best known for his dictionary; however, he also accomplished many great things things in his life and is considered to be a forgotten founding father of the United States. Noah’s early life and education, his work as a lawyer and patriot, and the impacts of his work as an author and educator all played a role in making Webster a great man.

Abigail Adams was born Abigail Smith in 1744 at Weymouth, Massachusetts. She was a descendent of the Qunicys', a very prestigious family in the colonies, on her mothers' side. On September 27, 1722, Samuel Adams was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Adams attended and later graduated with a master’s degree from Harvard College in 1740. At Harvard College Adams studied law, but later decided to pursue politics. He started off his career as a tax-collector in Massachusetts, which he was not a very good one. Adams was elected to the Massachusetts Assembly in 1765, as a leader of the radical party. In 1774 he was elected to the First Continental Congress, then in 1775 he was elected again to be on the Second Continental Congress. Later he proudly signed his name to the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Before retiring in 1797, he served as lieutenant governor and governor of Massachusetts. Samuel Adams was raised on strict Puritan values, which are shown through his work.

James Buchanan was born on April 23rd, 1791 in Cove Gap, Pennsylvania. Buchanan’s parents James Buchanan Sr. and Elizabeth Speer were Ulster Scots; his father emigrated from Donegal, Ireland in 1783. He grew up with six sisters and four brothers in a log cabin until they moved to Mercersburg, Pennsylvania in 1797. Buchanan’s educational career consisted of attendance to Old Stone Academy in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Dickinson College (also in Carlisle, Pennsylvania) where he graduated with honors in 1807, he then moved to Lancaster and earned his law degree. In the War of 1812, Buchanan served in the defense of Baltimore and is known as the only president with military experience who never served as an officer. Although he claimed to love Anne Caroline Coleman, they were never married and after their breakup Buchanan sent the following letter to Corenelia Roosevelt which led people to question his sexual orientation.

Samuel had a job at a counting house which is similar to a bank and after adams got fired from his job. After getting fired Samuel’s dad gave him money so he can start a business. Samuel gave some of the money to a needy friend and soon adams lost the rest of the other half of the money. When Samuel lost the money Samuel’s dad put him to work in the family brewery but adams neglected the business until it was destroyed. Samuel later had six children with Elizabeth Checkley. John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, on the family farm in the North Precinct of Braintree, Massachusetts. He was the second of five children to his parents John and Susanna Boylston Adams. John's father was his role model because he wasn't only a farmer by trade, but he also took on many other time consuming jobs around the community to help others. Boone was fathered by a blacksmith and weaver, Squire Boone Sr. and nurtured by his England emigrated mother, Sarah Morgan. Boone was the sixth born and received a skimp formal education, for he learned to read and write from his mother. Boone acquired an education in wilderness and survival skills from his father. Boone just like his father had a niche for woodsmanship and hunting, for at the age of twelve he shot his first bear.

Timothy Webster Jr. was born on March 22, 1822, in Newhaven, Sussex County, England, the fourth of eleven children born to Timothy and Frances Webster. Two of the children died in infancy and one at the age of two. The Websters immigrated to the United States in 1830 and settled in Princeton, New Jersey. Timothy was eight.

His father was a farmer and also worked as a weaver, while his mother worked at home.
