4.1 Analysis of Road Network in the Widikum-Menka Area A total of 193.04km of road network exist in the study area (Table 1) and all these are untared except one (the Trans-African Highway) with a road length of 5.87km within the Widikum Municipality that cuts across from Bamenda to Mamfe (Widikum Rural Council, 2014). Table 1: The situation of road network in the Widikum-Menka Area National Regional Streets Total paved Farm to market roads Footpaths Paved Unpaved Paved Unpaved Paved Paved 1 paved unpaved 1 0 - - 0 3.53km 0 74.68km 108.97km Source: Annual Reports Widkum Rural Council, (2005) Earth roads cover 38.7% of the total road network and 56.4% are foot paths while streets are very few and cover only1.8% of the roads. The accessibility of the earth roads to four wheel vehicles is temporal as most of the earth roads are always in deplorable state during the rainy season coupled with frequent landslides that cut most parts of the roads. The poor road conditions and the absence of transport facilities no doubt affect the agricultural landmark of this montane area. This is a major deterrent to any form of development endeavor since the movement of goods and services to and from this area is impaired. This is contrary to the view of Pritchard (1982) who noted that an efficient transport system usually stimulates economic growth and an improvement of the livelihood conditions of rural communities. 4.2 Quantity of agricultural products produced The main
Country road has always been one of Australia leading premium stockists of apparel and home wares. Country Road began as a small manufacturer but expanded and diversified to become a leading wholesaler/retailer of apparel and home wares in the Australian market. The great success of this fueled the company into an expansionary strategy into the lucrative yet highly competitive US markets and also further along the way into the Asian markets. The strategy of international expansion into Asia had involved alternative strategies instead of the aggressive strategy into US. Such strategies included strategic partnerships and franchising agreements. Country Road was successful at first with its defined higher quality products and
The proposed building of 44 houses on the grassland in front of the Peter Mural reserve raises many geographically significant questions such as traffic control, impact on wildlife and endangered plants, bushfire risk and population growth of Huntingfield. I have decided to use traffic as an argument because of the dangers and inconvenience it will bring,
In order to avoid bad roads as much as possible, drivers must plan his or her route and
There has always been a demand for roads in the United States as roads are essential in the development of a nation. The national interstate highway system was America’s solution for the need of a road system that would stretch from coast to coast. The United States Interstate Highway System is a landmark project and often considered one of the greatest public works projects in American history by making travel by automobile faster, cheaper, safer and more convenient. New roads have been a necessity on our country ever since Henry Ford began to produce the automobile back in in 1903.
In this project the main focus is to investigate the topic of "is there more private traffic than commercial traffic on Good Luck Road due to the land usage along the road?
This obviously required a strong and central government that can gather the people and resources to build and maintain the roads. During this time building roads like this was considered really impressive. This

Low volume roads play an important role in Australia’s 825,000km road network particularly in areas like the Scenic Rim Regional Council, where the bulk of the network is made up of these roads. They act as a vital lifeline to convey residents to economic centres, employment and school to name but a few. If not maintained to an acceptable service level, the region will suffer financially and socially.
Over 1,600 miles of roadway through the most rugged country and severe weather conditions anyone has been in. The highway was to be used as a supply route and establish airfields incase Japan decided to attack from the north. But, in true American fashion the roadway was completed in a timely manner and is now known as the Alaskan Highway.
the author argues that allowing the road to be built will degrade the healthy environment and decline the regions biodiversity in the sanctuary.
Highway 12/18 is a major highway that passes through the town. Nonetheless, there are several other streets and side roads in the community. Majority of these streets, and roads, besides, highway 12/18 passing through town, are worked on constantly to keep them decent for driving. However, the side roads and street often needs repair, principally, those that are in the older neighborhoods, nonetheless, those that in the newer neighborhoods are in better condition. Just like the roads, and streets, is the same with the streetlights. There are also handicap accessible sidewalks, parking spaces in both public and business locations. Additionally, there are several bridges around the community that connects streets and over path. Be it for walking or crossing. The sidewalks, bike lanes, walk paths and bike paths are for the most part in decent condition.
The Silk Roads were a network of land based trading links that connected the multitude of Eurasian civilizations. Through the trade of goods, the spread of religion, disease, genes, and cultures connected Eurasian civilizations. Widely believed to have flourished in the second and third centuries, and again in the seventh and eighth centuries, the Silk Roads clearly have an extensive history (Strayer, 18-19). But David Christian’s thesis argues that the Silk Roads history needs to be extended beyond the accepted realms. Further, Christian proclaims that the widely accepted name for these trading links, the Silk Roads, doesn’t appropriately encompass the addition of the newly included history.
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from work is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. A lot of countries are facing Transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. A trip of about 30 minutes can take about an hour or more due to traffic jams. This is seriously impacting productivity and has been a topical issue in the country. The situation is the same in Uganda where I currently work. To this end, Transportation Engineers are needed to design roads/ highways that will stand the test of time, plan effective traffic management systems to reduce travel
The objective of this paper is to understand the modes of road transportation, the role of road transportation in urban areas, the role of transportation infrastructure in
Most of these towns are evolving ones whose development the government seeks to intervene in the provision of public utilities like water, housing, schools, markets, good roads with street lights, health facilities like clinics or maternity homes and community centres among others.
