1. Introduction 1.1 About UK hotel sector.
The UK hosts a number of the worlds most prestigious hotels, and hotel brand name chains. All to which use Information systems, in particularly, more well known chains such as Premierinn, Novotel, and the Hilton. Who in fact are the current market leaders for hotels within the UK. Their continuous success in being one of the biggest hotel chains in the UK depends on them constantly increasing and expanding the use of new information systems.
1.2 Information Systems and importance of them to Hotels.
An Information system (IS) is a system made of computers and people that processes or explains information. The term is also sometimes used in more restricted senses to refer to only the software used to run a computerised database or to refer to only a computer. The key to successful businesses success, is from the heart of the business which is ran by information systems. Hotels are no exception to this, hotels around the world have adopted information systems to make sure their businesses run as smoothly as possible. Information systems are referred to within the hotel sector as HIS (Hotel information systems).

2. Levels of decision-making
