Beyond the love story People are always rewriting other people’s stories - consciously or unconsciously - cutting and trimming, pasting, rearranging, and adjusting to new times and circumstances, sometimes adding truly creative elements and occasionally actually improving on the original. The Tragicall Historye of Romeus and Juliet which was a narrative poem by Arthur Brooke is considered to be William Shakespeare's base source for his famous play Romeo and Juliet (Mabillard). West Side Story (1961) is a widely-acclaimed, melodramatic musical - a modern-day, loose re-telling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet tragedy of feuding families. Unfortunately, Romeo kills Juliet's cousin in a duel, and he is forced to leave Verona. If he ever returns to the city, he will be executed. Juliet's parents told her she must marry Paris. He jumps right in, and tells Balthasar to get the horses ready at once. Romeo and Juliet’s lack of maturity also causes them to love one another without a limit. They are too immature to realize that the feeling of love should not conquer common sense and reasoning. They love each other too such an extreme, that they are inseparable; and once separated, they are willing to go up to any extent to be loyal to each other and their love. This idea is strongly emphasized when Juliet is willing to kill herself rather than marry Paris which proves that she is loyal to her love. Romeo, in return, kills himself after he sees Juliet dead, which shows that he too is loyal to his love. Romeo and Juliet are both young and immature when they fall in love with each other, and their immaturity results in them not understanding that love has its limits. The young lovers love to an extreme neglecting love’s limits, which leads to them not taking mature decisions and steps, but rather rashly and abruptly on impulse to honor their love for each other. Romeo and Juliet feel such a burden to honor their love for each other that they end up committing suicide.
Acceptance is the first building-block when entering a group. If accredited by those in your association, this leads to belonging with everyone, and then finally being treated like close acquaintances no matter what the situation is. This behavior is displayed throughout in the stories, The Outsiders and West Side Story. In the fictional novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, the main character, Ponyboy, belongs to a diverse gang of delinquents, each of them with different qualities and aspects, but as divergent as they all are, they always welcome one another like a family. In the fictional play West Side Story by Arthur Laurents, there is a character named Tony who has gradually grown distant from his old gang, the Jets, although his fellow

Plot refers to the sequence of events in a story. The story and movie are similar in their conflict, climax, and resolutions. In both the narrative and movie, the conflict is that George is unhappy with his life and wants to kill himself. As said in The Greatest Gift, “The water looked paralyzingly cold. George wondered how long a man could stay alive in it. The glassy blackness had a strange, hypnotic effect on him. He leaned still farther over the railing... ‘I wouldn’t do that if I were you,’ a quiet voice beside him said.” The climax is when George, after seeing what life would be like if he was never born, realized how much people actually needed him, and

Romeo and Juliet’s love story is just the same as West Side Story’s love story. For example in both love stories the main characters can never be together. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo can’t be with Juliet because of their family rivalry. In West Side Story, Tony and Maria can’t be together also because of their gangs rivalry.
As soon he lays his eyes on her, Romeo instantly falls in love with Juliet. Later that night, Romeo shows up at Juliet’s balcony and they decide that they must get married in secret, for a Capulet and Montague would never be allowed to love one another. Informing only Friar Laurence and the nurse, Romeo and Juliet plan to secretly get married in the Friar’s cell one afternoon. After the wedding, Romeo gets in a fight with a Capulet named Tybalt, who is Juliet’s cousin. The Capulet’s take Tybalt’s side and the Montagues take Romeo’s.
