It is hard to change your core personality but what you can do is change your behaviours. You are able to break free from your patterns and the way you act, allowing yourself to become who you want to be. I am able to make the most of my sensitive personality style by remembering to live each day to the fullest. Each day I can try my best to do things to help me learn how to worry and stress less. For me it can be as simple as doing something different, it is as easy as trying to take a different bus as each bus will get me to where I need to be but each one takes a different way to get their. Hopefully helping me learn not to worry so much and to calm my nerves, hopefully one day getting rid of all those stomach knots I tend to get. Learning that change is ok and I just need to embrace each moment in life. Maybe …show more content…
Learning just to flip a coin instead of stressing over a decision for hours. Hopefully realizing it is good just to make a decision instead of doing nothing at all. Also realizing I need to relax more by maybe making a list of relaxing non work activities to go. Maybe reading a book outside or going for a long walk or a nice bike ride on a sunny day. Like relaxing and being thankful for the little things and being thankful for each day, trying not to worry so much. There are many choices available to make sure I do get the most out of my personality styles. Their is many exercises available to help change the behaviours of my personality that I don't like. As if you want and care deeply enough you can change your behaviors and the way you feel and think and act and you can change your personality behaviours. It is never too late to do what you want to do, and with a little effort and the will to make a change you can do anything to break free from the bad habit and things you don't like, to become who you really want to
I have chosen to write about myself. I am consistently trying to improve myself both personally and professionally. According to the test that we took previously for class on the Keirsey website, I am an INFJ. This stands for introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. Keirsey identifies INFJ’s as counselors. We care deeply about others and their feelings. Sometimes we often notice the feeling of others before they themselves were aware. We prefer independent work or very small groups as opposed to team work. This specific combination of amounts is only three percent overall and those around us may consider our personality to be unique. I have always felt unique but would have guessed
Another piece of my personality comes from my current place as a new mommy. Being a mom makes me more affectionate, caring, fun, yet overprotective and accepting. Another addition or growth in a characteristic in my personality is the very recent death of my mother. After my mother’s incident I am more cautious of my surroundings, worrisome of those close to me, curious about life and its meanings and own purpose. I feel as though each of my experiences in life and situation adds more to my personality making me more complex every day.
Over the last 100 years, the underpinning concepts in the fields of psychology and counseling were wrought. Within this period, these concepts have transformed and evolved from somewhat crude conceptions of the psyche toward more holistic interventions and approaches. As the profession continues to move forward, adaptations of the original theorists regarding the nature of man and the development of personality continue to emerge. These adaptations, along with the integration of new concepts and ideas, continue to contribute to the field. The author describes his view of man and human nature, personality development, and explores potential implications for counseling.
The world would be a lot better of a place if everyone got along and knew how to communicate effectively with one another. There are several different personalities at any given workplace. “According to typological theory, each of us is born with a predisposition for certain personality preferences” (Kroeger pg11 para4). The Myers-Briggs Personality assessment is the most effective way to determine one’s personality type. The test uses different markers to determine how one is stimulated and exerts energy, gather information, make decisions, and living structure. At the completion of the test one will get personality type that is comprised of four letters. The test was developed based off of Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs-Myers’ psychological research on personalities and later dissected into Otto Kroeger’s book, “Type Talk at Work.” This book gives one the tools to determine what one’s personality is and then goes into great detail about one’s strengths and weaknesses and how it applies to to real life situations. My personality description is ENFP; Extravert, iNtuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. The following are details regarding and ENFP personality type examining a holistic view including personal and work place interactions. Everything is based on insights gained from real world experiences and interactions.

I found the test results of the Big Five personality assessment to be an interesting and very accurate description of myself. After completing this assessment, I was able to analyze my personality in depth. I found this information to be helpful knowledge and provide insight about myself, as well as being crucial in examining my personality traits. The big five is also referred to the OCEAN model of personality, and stands for the main traits used to describe personalities. This acronym stands for openness to experience/intellect, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. After taking the test I was then given percentile scores that allowed me to compare myself with other people who have taken the test online as well, therefore making it a more meaningful comparison.
John Adams once said, “Thanks be to God that he gave me stubbornness when I know I am right”. John Adams, like myself was introverted, intellectual, thinking, and judging, or an INTJ on the Myers Briggs personality test. Like all INTJs, Adams was stubborn and flouted the ideas of others that he did not agree with. By using my results from the Meyers Briggs personality test, I can examine how I react to certain things and use this to improve my Spirituality, my relationship with God, and ultimately my relationship with others through Christ.
However with advantages come disadvantages. For example, with correlational studies there is no background information obtained. Therefore, the reliability of the correlational studies is questioned.
Everyday you learn more and more about yourself.. You might not know it, but you could really like the sushi at the local place you always pass through after school but never get the curiosity of trying it. As senior year comes half of us know where we want to do with the rest of their lives, but the other half is still trying to find who they are. Taking personality tests can be important because they help us learn more about ourselves whether or not they are accurate. While taking both the Big Five Project and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment, I learned a little more about myself then I had expected.
This past Friday the Myers-Briggs test determined my personality to be within the INFJ category. The character description helped me to identify different aspects of my personality, and I have reviewed the major ways I communicate with others and progress through various emotions. The career page encouraged me to consider possible careers matching the conditions under which I best thrive. The review also pinpointed my God-given gifts, showing my role in His will.
When it comes to workplace relationships, my kindness grows is going to grow where emotional and practical supports are found. The trouble is, there are many advantages of an instituted long-term relationship, and I am vulnerable in the process to reach this point due to my shyness. Let me recall a quick example about me and other student. There is a student who asked me “hey, are you Korean?” I replied “I’m Vietnamese”. He responded “I know you look like an Asian but I don’t know exactly what the country is?” I was excited and kept waiting for him to ask another question. Unfortunately, the conversation was over. Later
Change in Attitude and continuity of life: My emotions, my feelings and my attitude change along with time as I grew up. (Some of them are continuity and some of them are changes):-Changes that happened in my life from childhood to an adult (still I am not 18) made me think that how is all this even happening. I used to react differently to the same situation two years before than I react to that same situation today. My feelings used to be smoother than it is today. I always think about people than about results. But today question like:-Am I doing this thing correctly? What people will think about me? All of this questions comes first than what am I doing is for my happiness. As said that personality depends on perspective like Id, ego and superego (Myers, D. (2004). Psychology (6th ed.). New York: Worth.) I think this is the phase of my life in which I am going under some kind of transformation of my emotion and feelings. Hope this change is continuous and I get some good outcome of this change because right now I don’t have any particular emotion, it always depends on the situation, time and mood of the day.
Personality is defined as “a) the sum total of the physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics of an individual. b) the organized pattern of behavioral characteristics of the individual” (Dictionary.com, 2010). Whether we realize it or not, personality defines us as people. There are many facets to my personality,
As human beings, we different from one another. We are created with a lot of character traits. We all can gain knowledge about our own personalities, we develop our perceptive about strengths and weaknesses, and clarify what we truly value as individuals. The Myers Brigg personality assessment classified me as an Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, and Perceiving (ISFP) personality type. Results showed slightly Introvert 16 %, sensing 12%, feeling 19%, and perceiving 3%. Throughout this paper I will analyze the diverse parts of my own personality traits and how those traits have effected both my personal and my working environment.
The biggest change I would like to make is to relax more when I get home. I leave the stresses of work at work but I still try to mediate and monitor every little thing that happens around me. Stop doing that! Why are you doing that! Go do
