I sit in the bowling alley bathroom floor on a Saturday night with, Kennedy, Sarra, Kamryn, and Hallee terrified that there’s going to be someone breaking in and shooting us all. Hallee Lincoln and I sit on the floor and hold the door closed, Hallee calls the police and tells them that there is someone at the bowling alley door with a gun and we’re sitting in the bathroom trying to keep safe. All that I know is: I came here just to have a fun night, there’s a shooter running around Glenwood, who knows who the shooter shot, and there’s a man outside with a gun. Someone is trying to push the door open and Hallee and I look at each other with terror and push as hard as we can to keep the door closed. I then hear a familiar yell, “Alyx!” I whisper, “Mom?” “Yes! Get out of here, I’m taking you home!” I open the bathroom door and I’m greeted with an angry face,“Come on!” I step out of the bathroom and I see an empty bowling alley, the lights are off, and there’s no one in sight but the bowling alley manager. My mom grabs my hand and drags me outside. Outside, I see my uncle in the position to shoot, rifle up, his eyes alert. I can see his short beard hair shine a little bit in the little light there is outside. “ Let’s go.” My mom demands to my Uncle Adam and I. I’m again dragged this time to the car, I get in our white Chevy malibu and start to drive home. We then, hear the wailing of cop cars behind us and we don’t think much of it because there was just a shooting
When the gunshot rang through my ears, I, as well as everyone around me was stunned in confusion, fear, and lack of comprehension. They looked around to see where the bullet had landed and noticed him, a man in his late forties looking down at his stomach. The hand that covered the area was stained with a thick, dark red color that coated his clothing. The crowd drew away from him as he fell to his knees, just realizing that he’d been shot and he was going to die. When he looked up at the police, they looked away, ashamed of their actions and unaware of the impact his death would have on his family, his friends.
"Geez... That sucked monkey butt." I said. Everyone was sleeping. I must've passed out when the van went into the ditch, since the van is still there. I sat up and looked out the window that was shot. No one was out there, but I had a feeling I knew who it was. Someone who had always loved pranks, even if she put someone in danger. I didn't know how she would find us. I crawled around my friends, trying not to wake them, but Lydia ended up waking
I woke up to unknown gunshots, which is really weird because I usually sleep through them. These gunshots are more like Mk 19 grenade launchers, louder and more explosive. I grab my brown cardigan and my knife under the pillow and start to creep out to the hallway. After stepping out, darkness, a hand covers my mouth and I flip him over my shoulder with my knife aiming toward the unknown person’s neck. I turn on my iPhone's flashlight at his face. To my surprise, it was Alec, one of our drug dealers.
Her grandmother knew she wouldn’t come to the door because, assuming she was asleep, whenever she tried to rouse her awake she’d never answer.
Once Reborn entered the Police Station he was met with a man he had come to familiarize with through a phone, Police Sergeant Rin Matsuoka. You see, on the way over he pulled a few strings that would allow Kimura to be freed without charge. As an added bonus, it wouldn't be put on his record. The things he does for strangers.
My lip was bulging as blood mixed with salty tears. The metallic taste was filling the gap that was left on my face. The gap felt rough whenever I touched it in the slightest bit. Slowly and painfully, it turned red, then purple and then back to my normal skin tone which, almost made me pass out like Sleeping Beauty. My lip felt like there were arrows going into my mouth and out my throat. I let out a high pitch scream that woke up all of humanity. Everything after that was a blur. I didn’t understand what was happening. I looked like the cousin of Joker and I talked funny just like him. Maybe, I could have been his twin sister rather than his cousin. I will explain everything, it time.
It was that jolly time of the year again and of course Stan and Roger were arguing over who would be on the naughty list.
“Adrien, I’d like for you to read the Bible, Matthew 7:15 tomorrow in the morning.” The teacher spoke strictly, her eyes shut but her stick pointing towards the empty seat where Adrien would usually sit.
Every step is heavy, as we reached the base of the hill, where a super steep incline awaits. We conquer it every year though each time, it feels less victorious. My brother took the lead, grabbing onto a thick plant to haul himself up. Going next, I grab the same vine, though it breaks, dropping me on the clotted earth. My legs become stuck with dirt, my sweat acting like an adhesive. Like the lovely person he is, Gabriel looked down and laughed, before giving me a hand and helping me up and over the incline, as displaced dust trickles down. To break the quiet I turn my embarrassment into his, making fun of his new girlfriend. “Why Bebe?” I quip, “Stella is so much prettier and smarter. And she’s actually your age.” Glaring at me, he hisses “Can you not. ” With this, a realization hit me: their budding romance had ended. And so soon! “Did you guys break up?” I ask, followed quickly by, “Now you can profess your love to Stella!,” before running ahead to avoid his furious gaze and swinging arms. His now ex-girlfriend, he didn’t even tell me about, instead, I found out through a post on Instagram, which I soon found out had been deleted.
They stepped out into the cold December air, heading back to the bridge that they slept underneath. ‘Home’ as Ana so fondly put it. On their way, Ed saw that the deep blue Mercedes Benz was gone from its parking spot. “It must have been a half day for him”, Ed thought to himself. The two kept on walking, arm in arm. “So, what now?” Ana asked. “It’s only four o’clock.” As if on cue, the Mercedes Benz came ripping around the corner, heading right for Ana. Ed barely could blink before the squeal of brakes and Ana’s scream both registered in his brain. Ed could barely recall what happened next, but he remembered seeing Ana face down on the pavement, and watching the young programmer get out of his car, looking dazed. Later he learned that the man had to rush home to get a data storage device that he hadn’t brought to work that morning. There were probably more technical words that he used to describe it later on, but Ed wasn’t focused on that in the moment. In the moment, he grabbed the boy by the arm and screamed at him to call an ambulance.
David stumbles out of his bed and onto his feet. Takes a moment to balance himself without the wall, then stumble his way to the out of the cell. He remembers when he was in this cell last time. It was a long time ago, when he was young and innocent and didn’t realise how horrible this world is. He was here to pick up his younger brother, Jerry, who had taken out his mum's car when he was only 15. They had a promise that David would never tell their parents as long as Jerry didn’t pull another stunt like that again. The parents always worried about Jerry as he was the trouble maker at school and didn’t care about school. Not like David anyway. David was accepted into Oxford, and was squeaky clean. He never did anything wrong, he was a smart kid. But he is a different person now. If you told his parents he would end up like this, they would die of shock. Age has changed him, he has experienced a lot and has anger growing inside him.
Rather than answer, Jacob said, “What I meant was that I wish I didn’t know what I was going to do today. I always know what I have to look forward to, and it isn’t much. Practically nothing in fact.”
She glanced around, but she was all on her own. The only noise came from a fire where logs burned and crackled in a grate. Framed photos lined the top of a mantle but they were too far away to see. She stared for a while into the flames and let her mind drift. Shapes formed in the flames. First a gargoyle, and then a girl’s face. The bright orange light hurt her eyes so she let them close. A few minutes later she jerked herself awake again. She felt hot. She kicked off the blankets only to find she was naked underneath. She blushed and covered herself before anyone came in the room.
“ Sorry, Dawn! I guess I am a little late. Oh, and by the way, you are now on plain grain. We are giving your champion feed to Ringo now, with twice the apples. We think he needs and deserves it more that you do. I hope you understand!”
It was the most magical day of her life, she was a wife to be. Her hair glistened, as the sunlight flooded into the room. She was finally going to be with the man that she loved. There was nothing that could really ruin this day for the bride-to-be because her wedding had turned out exactly how she dreamed to be. She slowly walked down the aisle, when the lights flickered out. Everyone started screaming, things were crashing on the floor, and children were running in circles. It was a scene of chaos and fear; before the bride knew what was happening loud shots were ringing out in the chapel. In a flash of confusion; the lights turn on, and as everyone looked around in their shaken state, they were awaken to the horror of the bride’s white dress covered in red. The color of her blood soaked her dress as she lay at the altar with a hole in her chest where a bullet had passed through.
