It was a sunny day meaning only the main street lights had to be on during the day. Sarah Gamble was outside drawing messages in the mud when her mom called her inside. “Wipe your feet and help me clean up for our guests. They’ll be here in about fifteen minutes.” Sarah had heard about her cousin Travis, but had only imagined the details of his personality. She dreamed of a strawberry blonde with cute freckles and a goofy smile. A boy with an imaginative brain and an adventurous spirit just like her.
At exactly four o’clock, the doorbell rang. Sarah smoothed her hair one last time and waited for the guests to scan in and identify themselves as family before being able to enter. “Diana, how are you? Travis, you’ve gotten so big.” The boy standing in the doorway was a disappointment. He had straight brown hair with a boring face and a smell of stale Cheerios. Sarah was star struck, not knowing what to say. “Why don’t you show Travis around the area, Sarah. After all, he’s never been to the coast.” Sarah’s mom gently pushed her out the door leaving Sarah, blonde and bright, next to her cousin Travis, brown haired and boring. The two ten year olds stood there a few moments before Sarah asked “want to have an adventure?” Wishing with all her might, she looked questioningly into her cousin’s eyes. Travis shrugged and started to pick his nose. “Maybe we could find something cool in the shore. Mom tells me never to go too far, but adventure is all about taking risks, right?”
It was a cold and foggy wednesday morning on june 10th. Hunter was sleeping on his bed when he heard his mom call him.
“Where should we walk to?” I asked. “I don’t know” said Megan. Elizabeth chimed in saying “let’s just walk around seeing where we end up.” The three of us walked around, and ended up at the playground at Olmsted Elementary School. It was chilly out, but you only needed a sweatshirt. The playground was spooky at night. It felt like someone was hiding waiting for
Cloud sits in his grandparent's living room, bored out of his mind. In comes his sister, Crystal, and plops down next to him. "Bubby, play with me!" She whines. He smiles at her sweetly. She is quite a bit younger than him; ten years, in fact. She is seven and not past her years of an over-active imagination. He, however, is seventeen and just as imaginative, if not more, than his little sister. He doesn't mind it too much; viewing the world as inspirational and bonding with his much younger sister. In his opinion, the only bad thing is how out of place he is at school. They just don't understand.
As the days go by, Rita couldn’t stop thinking about the trip. She was stressing about if she was going to get pick, and if she does, who will she pick to go with her?! She was a wreck all morning. Later her boyfriend, Bret Surge, came up to her locker before 6th hour. Hey sweetie, have you decide who you’re going to pick yet?” Bret said. “No, I just need more time to think about it’’ said Rita. “Alright,I hope it’s me, but I’ll see you later bye!” Bret said as he looks into her 3 round eyes and kisses her on her tail. Rita smiled and watch him walk to class. When the minute rock bang on the speakers, she ran to her 6th hour, food discovery.
The bright, warm sun shone through the only window in Mrs. William's 5th grade classroom. Mckenna Green sleepy peeks up at the window and glances at the bright green trees and blooming flowers. She looks at all the beautiful spring colors and birds flying happily in the sky. Mckenna suddenly looks back down at her 35 question math test and sighs. All she sees is black and white, her least favorite colors. She then stares at the ticking clock, with several more minutes till school ends. Mckenna slowly drifts into a daydream, closing her eyes lightly. She imagines herself babysiting for the first time, something she had been wanting to do ever since her friends started to babysit. Mckenna sees her best friend Annie by her side as they watch Mckenna’s two-year-old sister Pennie play with her dolls. Shortly after, Mckenna’s mother Mrs. Green comes home and gives them both 20 dollar bills. “Thankyou, thankyou very much!” Mckenna says as she gleefully gazes at her money.
Gwen walked outside only to get a face full of the cool, cold breeze gliding across her face. She had on a lightweight, zipped up maroon jacket that still kept her warm despite its thickness. She also was wearing a dark gray - almost black - beanie her dad had got her the Christmas before he joined the army to go fight in Afghanistan. She’d had it since she was 14. Her somewhat medium-length bright, blonde hair went down just a little past the hood of her jacket. Being 17, Gwen hopped into her bright white 2014 Volkswagen Jetta - not the most spacious car in the world, but it got her where she needed to go. She set off to go pick up her best friend, Lauren, to set off on another adventure. The city of Cleveland was pretty busy this morning, yet it was nothing compared to New York City or Tokyo.
The ride to school was awkward. Since his father had to go in early for work at the new Overhaul and Repair center the next town over, Dante had to be driven to his first day of school by his soon-to-be stepmother, Laura. It wasn’t that Dante hated Laura or that she wasn’t a nice person. She just wasn’t that intelligent, and it was beyond annoying having to deal with her sometimes. It was quite cramped in the metallic blue ‘99 Pontiac Firebird with Laura’s 8 year old son, Ryan in the back seat, sitting quietly, as the sports car trawled the streets of Lawndale, Maryland.
He expected he would have gone somewhere with his music by now. However, since Dylan he didn't even have time for it. His dream had been put on hold so long he doubted he'd ever be able to get back to it. All he needed was one chance, but as busy as he'd been he doubted that such a chance would come along. As he walked into the store and old lady passed him, who he assumed was her grand daughter walked with her, she had golden hair and vivid blue eyes, whiched looked right into Adams as if she;d recognized something beneath his own. Paying little attention, Adam walked to the back of the store and found the shelf that carried baby supplies. $15 for the smallest bag of Huggies, but Adam searched for a generic brand but found none. Sighing he seized the bag of Huggies and walked to the cooler, where he grabbed a galleon of milk and a dozen eggs. Making his way to the front of the store he found Miss. Riley sitting behind the counter, reading the latest issue of Soap Digest.. She smiled as he approached and set the maazine
That summer had been his favorite.Jensen thought back to where they would spend time at the lake around where their uncle lived. Him and Sam would sit on the dock and Jensen would read books and tell stories to the younger boy. Sam started making up his own stories filled with imagination to tell Jensen, since he was too young to read to him. Jensen smiled as he recalled Sam’s favorite story to tell, one about
As Sarah’s mom pulls into the driveway of 1542 Elm Street, she in nothing but excited. Impatiently she tells her mom to hurry and unlock the door not wanting to waste a single second of the “girls night” planned. When the doors finally unlocked she rushed to grab her bag and practically sprinted up to the front door. Sarah rang the doorbell a couple of times then started to jump up and down as she waited.
It was just a typical day on the Poster farm, a warm breeze blew the smell of hay across the land, the holstein cows bellered in the barn, and the sun shined down on a beautiful June day. Donna and Greg lived in Royalton for about six years with their two children, Nicole (Nikki) and Andrew (Andy). They had an everyday routine down, every now and then something would come up and the routine would change. Donna provided all of the meals, was a hardworking farmer, gave all of the advice and love anyone could ask for. Donna’s brother called earlier asking if his daughter could come over because he had errands to run, of course Donna said yes. Nikki and her niece, Monique, both six at the time. Nikki loved to hang out with someone besides Andy.
Sarah was a curious girl. She had just turned 13 this summer. School had started and it was moving painstakingly slowly. Sarah often got bored in their little town of Ashton in northern Maine. It was one of those towns that you would never find on a map, or in real life. It was hidden behind a forest of green pine trees, and they hardly ever had new residents. The only people who lived there had had generations of family before them. Sarah was a part of one of those families. She had only left Ashton one time in her whole life, to find her missing cat. She never found Jamie of course, but it felt amazing to just get away. By 12 years old Sarah felt so cooped up, that she was ready to run away, that was before he
It was a summer day. The wind was just cool enough for a vacation. It was an Saturday, and Thea's family decided to use their Hersheypark season passes, and take Thea’s friend Felicity with them for the day. Their day was fun filled with rides and shopping and water rides. It was about 6 o’clock, and Thea’s six year old brother Logan was starting to get tired, so they started to head back to the car.
“Thank you, Dr. Lange. We’re sure you will do everything you can for our little girl,” Jerry said.
