Starbucks was founded in 1971 on March 30, by three partners. All three partners met while students in University; English Teacher Jerry Baldwin, History teacher Zev Siegl, and writer Gordon Bowker. All three were inspired by Business man and entrepreneur, Alfred Peet, who had been in the roasting business some time and was known for high Quality roasts at affordable prices.
