Throughout the novel, our main protagonist Christopher is faced with various obstacles. From being unable to fit in socially, to trying to figure out who murdered the beloved neighborhood poodle, he begins to feel the uncomfortable constraints of his unspecified, but very likely, Asperger syndrome. A hero to me is an individual who selflessly sacrifices, frequently endangering their own life, for the benefit of others. Chris McCandless's actions and the resulting societal impact do not merit the designation of heroism. Some would agree that he had lots of courage and was brave, therefore making him a hero, but despite his braveness and courage, his emotional state led him to abandon everything and die. In the novel Into the Wild, Chris McCandless expressed how quickly he disappeared, Chris mailed his parents a copy of his final grade report... it was the last anyone in Chris s family would have ever heard of him ( Krakauer)

This characterization is not always the case however, heroes are not habitually dauntless. In S. E. Hinton’s book The Outsiders Johnny Cade is recognized for these traits. Johnny Cade has a tanned face with jet black eyes and hair and is known for being small yet having a slight build.

The hero that I selected earlier was Wonder Woman from the Western Archetypal Hero list.

Small or big, everything we do in life is part of our journey. Reg Harris’ “The Hero’s Journey” describes the voyage one takes throughout life to grow and change as a person. He breaks the journey down into eight steps leading to the return. It starts out as a goal that isn’t always easy to reach, one goes through hardship and personal doubts only to succeed and become a better person. An example of this journey can be found in the movie, Troy through the character Achilles. Achilles is a strong fearless warrior in the movie, Troy who goes through “The Hero’s Journey” and ends up with a change of heart.

Hunger Games, Star Wars, and A Wrinkle In Time have many similarities, and differences when they go through the Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s Journey is what the main character goes through in a book or movie. For example, Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Ender's Game, and much more.

The hero’s journey can be found in ancient stories from thousands of years ago as well as present-day stories that may hit the big screen. The hero experiences a chain of events that gives he or she, typically a male, a title of “the hero”. The hero's journey begins with either an inner longing to go on a quest, or an exterior call that requires the hero’s help outside of the ordinary world. Heroes may, at first, refuse the call, or may respond to the call immediately. However, there is usually some resistance to the call because of the potential danger he or she could face from the unknown world. A possible theme for Oedipus the King by Sophocles is that one’s blindness can hide the inevitability that is his destiny. Oedipus is in this situation. He struggles to escape his fate: killing his father and marrying his mother and believes he is successful. Sophocles believes that the gpds control one’s destiny and the inevitability that a person will do what is destined despite there hero’s intentions.Oedipus represent the standards of a true tragic hero: he is well known, basically good, his punishment is out of proportion compared to his crime, the audience at some point feels sorrow and pity for him, and Oedipus has a tragic flaw. During the whole story Oedipus thinks that he may be able to change his fate a live life how he wants but he falls to that which is his destiny.For these reason Oedipus is truly an example of a tragic hero and is unable to avoid his tragic fate.

In comparison to other leaders speeches, Trumps is more effective due to the examples, uses people’s emotions, and his word choice.

Low angle shot, where a camera points upwards from below, generally make people or things look bigger, more courageous and important. However, same angle shots sometimes will be chosen to emphasize different effects in one film. In the movie “Night of the Living Dead,” the director George A. Romero uses low angles for different purposes.
