2.) According to the book, networking is a way to share information and help others. Networking is not a way to ask for a job. Networking is based on building and maintaining relationships. You must remain in contact with these individuals because you never know the opportunities that may arise because you have established these kinds of relationships. You also must be sure to keep them very professional and not cross any boundaries that could be damaging to the network you have established with these
Over the past two decades, EBP has expanded on Florence's theories. EBP constitutes the combination of clinical expertise, patient values, and research evidence when making decisions about patient care. In the 1990's, it was determined that just increasing knowledge was not sufficient for improving patient outcomes. To obtain better patient outcomes "new knowledge must be transformed into clinically useful forms, effectively implemented across the entire care team within a systems context,
Florence Nightingale was an immense impact on nursing, who “became famous for her revolutionary work as a nurse during the Crimean War” (Kent 30). “She dedicated her life to improving conditions in hospitals, beginning in an army hospital during the Crimean War,” (3 Registered). Her actions were then used by “concerned individuals, rather than by professionally trained nurses” during the Civil War, (Registered 279). Many of Nightingale’s ideas were brought into modern times, but with the improvement of technology and licensed nurses. With the influence and patience of Florence Nightingale, nursing has evolved into an outstanding career.
In Nightingale Square, a small run down ‘mom & pop’ grocery store, a newly updated/built Downtown Store. I noticed many vehicles parked on the streets and residents walking the streets.
A. Networking is letting people know you are looking (friends, family, etc.). I plan to use this technique by telling everyone I know, that I am currently looking for an HR internship and that if they may know anyone in that field to please put in a word for me. By doing so I expect to create a broader range of open opportunities because my name can be heard by different people and relayed to different companies who may also relay the message to companies or friends they know.

Last spring when I began a Landscaping Business an old friend from high school who was knowledgeable about landscaping needed a job. He ended up being a great worker and every one of the clients were happy with his expertise, A few months, he came to me and said that after fall cleanup he was moving to the Burlington area. Nightingale said, “The very first requirement in a hospital is that it should do the sick no harm”. The history of nursing initially begins with Florence Nightingale. Before her era nurses had a tarnished reputation (Glasper, 2017). They were poorly educated and incompetent people. Nurses such as Mrs. Bedford Fenwick wanted to change the image of nursing. They did this by leading a campaign for professionalism. Which led to the culminated Nurse Bill receiving is royal assent in December 1919 (Glasper, 2017). This guide to networking’s goal is to help undergraduate college students find jobs/internships through the power of networking. Many students simply post their resume online and think that that they’re talented enough to “be found” by recruiters. But it’s not true, according to industry recruiters nearly 70-80% of jobs and internships recruit from networking. If students aren’t networking they’re missing out on 70-80% of all internship opportunities available to them.
Theory and practice are said to go hand in hand. Theory is shaped based on practice and insight, while it also gives shape and foundation to practice. Florence Nightingale is acknowledged as the founder of modern nursing and a theorist. She believed in the patient’s capacity for self-healing which is reinforced by the nurse’s ability to create an environment conducive to health (Smith &Parker, 2015, p. 50). Her philosophy of nursing is that one should put the patient in the best position for nature to act on him or her. This paper will identify the five essential components of her theory to draw out an appropriate plan of care for Mrs. Adams in the case study. In addition, discuss the applicability of Nightingale’s
