Abortion: For? Against? Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, over 57 million unborn children have been killed, more than the entire population of Spain! (Guttmacher) I strongly disagree with abortion, no one should be able to kill the baby/babies growing inside of a woman. It takes innocent lives of unborn human beings that are, living, unique babies with a heartbeat! There are many things that can go wrong when having or thinking about having an abortion, such as it is damaging to relationships and families, there are many harsh ways to abort a baby, which can cause some problems also, and it could cause emotional damage to one. Whenever a family member dies, everyone is affected. It would be no different than a harmless child losing their lives. The thought of it never really goes away. It is always there, in the back of your mind, waiting for the chance to pop back up again. Even with time it will never ease, the thought of what you did. It compounds tragedy. Sometimes, the circumstances of a woman becoming pregnant, aren’t so great. Maybe she was raped or the baby has been diagnosed with a defect or complications. Although, one tragedy is not to be answered with another. They must now be forced into a spur of the moment decision, to take the life a child instead of giving them a chance to defy the odds. After an abortion, the rate of marital breakups and relationship dissolution is anywhere from 40 to 75 per cent, often related to the breakdown of intimacy
Abortion should be illegal in the United States of America. Since abortion was made legal in 1973, almost 57 million babies have been murdered by abortion. At the rate of 2,900 babies aborted a day, or 1,058,500 a year, the death toll is averaging almost double the deaths caused by the “leading cause of death” in the U.S., heart disease. These are 57 million people, who could've grown up to cure cancer, or found a reliable and abundant clean source of energy. Also, women who have had abortions almost always are psychologically affected in some form or another. These affects include, but are not limited to; regret, anger, guilt, shame, sense of loneliness or isolation, anxiety and depression, and suicidal thoughts or feelings/actions. In fact,
There are two main political parties you can choose from in the United States, The Democrats and the Republicans. There are also third parties you can choose from. People can choose to be part of any party. We are divided by the left and right side on the political spectrum. The right are more conservative and the left are more liberal. These two political parties show philosophical differences through their viewpoints on major topics. With so many differences between the parties, finding topics or issues upon which constituents agree on can be difficult.
Abortions should be illegal in the United States. Abortions have been occurring since the 1800`s. They were banned in the 1880’s except to save the life of the women. However, the Supreme Court ruled in 1973, in the case Roe vs Wade that abortion is legal in the first trimester. I disagree with this ruling because it is morally wrong. Secondly, every human being must be responsible for their actions. Lastly, there are many options available to prevent becoming a parent. We have to right to decide when we want to become a parent, but not if it involves terminating another human life.
“How can the “Dream” survive if we murder children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate” (Martin Luther King, Jr). This quote, by Martin Luther King Jr, represents how Martin Luther King Jr really feels about abortions, and how abortions relate back to the idea of slavery. As abortions are spreading all across the world many people have wondered if there are any positives to abortions? If there are not any positives to abortion then people may wonder, what are the negatives to abortions, and how do other people feel about abortions.
Although there have been many debates about abortion since the middle of the 1800’s, it is still a large problem in current times do to the question regarding women’s equality and freedom under the topic of abortion: pro-life or pro-choice? There have been many restrictions put on abortion clinics and doctors recently in attempts to put abortion clinics out of business, ultimately ending abortion in some areas and states. Many women, such as poor and minorities, are unable to get an abortion due to the location of the clinics. The inconveniences of location, laws, and protests have brought down several abortion providers, which makes abortions difficult to get. Due to abortion being a sensitive topic amongst debates, many voters will listen to the candidate’s view on the subject and what the candidate will do about abortion restrictions. Even though some abortions are conducted incorrectly now, there were more prevalent problems back when abortion became a major topic.
I hold the belief that a woman should have the right to have an abortion if that is what she would like. This means I identify as a pro-choice supporter. If the government ever decide to illegalize abortion, it would mean that women do not 'own' their body and instead the lawmakers do. As soon as a third party, such as lawmakers, are given the power to decide that abortions are wrong and they decide to ban abortions, women are no longer in control of their own bodies which makes them powerless.
Many women after having an abortion need to talk to a psychologist because they weren’t prepared for how an abortion would affect their life. Women have reported that they have had many emotional responses to the choose they made to get rid of their baby. A lot of women don’t realize how mentally destroying it could be to them or their family. “You might feel
Abortion has been a highly debated topic in the world for many years. It causes such an intense argument because of the certain circumstances that may cause one to want an abortion. Some circumstances such as rape are what make picking a side so complicated. Some people also think teenagers who get pregnant should have the option to chose, and others think that it is still not an excuse. There are many valid arguments for both views, pro life and pro choice. Pro life is a group who thinks women should not have the right to an abortion, and abortion is murder. Pro choice is a group that believes women should have the right to their own bodies and should be able to make the choice of whether or not to go through with their pregnancy and should
According to the article “Are Abortion Rights Threatened, 2013” over fifty million infants, died in 2012 before they even stepped foot into this world, due to abortion. To clarify abortion is the termination of the fetus in the mother’s womb typically by chopping up the baby into pieces with a knife, cracking its skull and vacuuming out its brains, or with the drug RU-486. As a result, abortion is one of the most common and cruel cause of death in the United States, yet the government has legalized this practice. Moreover, there are other measures that can be taken if a women feels she needs an abortion including adoption and financial aid. Therefore, women should not choose to abort her baby, because it is immoral and harmful
Faye Wattleton, the longest reigning president of the largest abortion provider in the world - Planned Parenthood- argued as far back as 1997 that everyone already knows that abortion kills. She proclaims the following in an interview with Ms. Magazine:
“There are nearly 1.2 million abortions performed in the United States each year” (Operation Rescue, 2014). That was 1.2 million innocent lives that were ended before they even had a chance to begin. Abortion has been legal for decades now, and it is time to put a stop to all the murdering of unborn children. This senseless killing of an unborn child needs to be recognized for what it truly is, and that is legalized murder. Abortions should be made illegal in the United States because it is taking the life of an innocent person, there are other options out there and lastly abortions are not only harming the unborn child but also cause harm to the mother.
Rich, you are absolutely right, debate is needed in order to not only hear why someone is in favor or opposed to an idea. It allows others to hear more information about an issue, that includes both pros and cons on the issue. When I mentioned “alleviate the debate” I meant lessen the argument that the women’s right to an abortion is whether or not in the Constitution. The topic of abortion has been controversial issue for quite some time. On one hand, people believe that this is not within the text of the Constitution. On the other hand, there are people who believe that it’s within the constitutional text as interpreted as such in Roe v. Wade. As I read amending the Constitution is not an easy task, it has only been amended 27 times since
I feel that abortions should be illegal anywhere on this planet. I searched up some facts about how abortions can hurt you in The killing of an human was doing no wrong is a horrible act, even if that human being has yet to be born. Unborn babies are considered human or soon to be humans by the government and people who actually cares about humans. The federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which was made to protect unborn children from assault and murder. The law states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should be trialed for on purposely killing or attempting an abortion. At least 38
In recent years, abortion has become a live topic both at national and international levels, attracting great academic, legislative and judicial comments. Abortion is in many jurisdictions, a crime; though the sanctions for its violation differ. Its incidence in the world is increasing rather than decreasing. When it comes down to abortion the major question comes up, is it right or wrong to kill the unborn fetus? I agree in some cases but I strongly disagree with the idea.
Although some say abortion should be illegal and parents should not be allowed to choose abortion because it is unsafe, immoral, and against Christian beliefs to allow it. Abortion should be legal, it is safe and most people believe that abortion should be up to the parents because even though arguers say it is against their Christian beliefs, it is a moral decision that does not violate human rights, the overall abortion procedure is safe , and abortion can be justified. Abortion is a choice, a choice the mother must make.
