The topic of abortion is heavily debated. One of the major controversies surrounding abortion is whether or not the embryo is a human life and able to receive the same rights as any other human. Is the embryo mentally developed enough to be considered as a human life? It is medically proven that after conception, the human brain takes many months to develop, so the “personhood” of a fetus cannot begin until about the seventh month.

Abortion is widely debated across the world and in 1973 Roe v. Wade would start an issue with ethical and legal issues. There are multiple cases arguing why it should or shouldn’t be lawful to go through with this procedure. Women should have the right to get an abortion as It is her rights to decide if they aren’t able to be able have a child, the woman shouldn’t have to rely on anyone else, she should be able to make this decision as they have to carry it for 9 months and endure the physical pain. Abortion should not be illegal because it is justifiable in cases of rape, or when the woman has mental health or financial issues.

The United States has been divided now over the issue of abortion for thirty-three years since the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade in 1973. As of today, over 45 million legal abortions have been performed in the United States. Pro-choice advocates hold these 45 million abortions as being 45 million times women have exercised their right to choose to get pregnant and to choose to control their own bodies. To pro-life, or anti-abortion, advocates these 45 million abortions constitute 45 million murders, a genocide of human life in the United States propagated by the court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade. When does a fetus become a person? While pro-life advocates believe life begins at conception, pro-choice activists argue that abortions are going to happen whether it’s legal or not. Those who are pro-choice believe in abortion legalization to save lives and give women the right to have control over their own bodies. However, pro-life advocates claim that abortion is murder, by stating, “Abortion ends a pregnancy by destroying and removing the developing child. That baby’s heart has already begun to beat by the time the mother misses her period and begins to wonder if she might be pregnant (about 31 days after the mother’s last menstrual period or LMP)” (nrlc.org). Pro-life advocates are drifting away from the primary issue, which is maintaining basic human rights and are focused on social allegations as reasons for abortion.

At the moment of conception, each human being is given its own set of forty-six chromosomes and its own unique DNA. At just five weeks of development, the lungs, jaw, nose, and brain, alongside every other essential organ has began to form and the heart has been beating at a steady rate of eighty-five beats per minute. In just a week, bones will begin to form, muscles will be able to contract, and the embryo will contain everything present in an adult human (“Abortion Facts”). An individual, beautiful life has now began, sprouting from the tiniest of seeds.

Each person has their own view concerning abortion, but the majority of people have little knowledge about abortion. Abortion in teens is increasing every year, since morality concerns no longer seem to carry much weight with teens. There are many medical hazards associated with an abortion procedure. Americans feel that it is only the mother's choice whether or not to abort the fetus.

I agree completely that the fetus, or the human embryo, is in fact a living being. Moreover, human embryo is the “same” as human beings except, the difference between these two is that the embryo is not a full human person because the fetus is not fully developed yet. Every new life, whether it be animal or human, begins at conception. With this being said, no matter what the circumstances of conception, no matter how far along in the pregnancy, abortion, in my opinion, always ends the life of an individual human being.

Abortion is one of the maximum controversial topics that has been always argued over for many years all around the international that poses the questions demise or lifestyles. Abortion discusses one’s interplay wherein ethics, emotions, clinical, and law come into location. Abortions have been performed on women for thousands of years. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Most often it is performed during the first 20 weeks of being pregnant. The controversy over whether or not abortion should be legal continues to divide Americans till this day. An important landmark case was the Roe v. Despite this readily available information, a number of arguments are still present and advocate for the legalization and acceptance of abortion. First of all, one of the six classifications of life is, quite literally, to be a “clump of cells”. There is no clear empirical evidence that points out the distinction between arbitrary sizes of these clumps. From the youngest zygote, to the oldest senior citizen, all humans are clumps of cells. The second and more implicit claim within the above statement, which would imply that a potential being cannot be a life, and is instead comparable to a single egg or sperm cell, is similarly not based in objective truth. The egg and sperm cells, before fertilization, are not genetically unique, but rather are products of the parent, containing parent DNA until conception. It has already been stated that a fetus is a living human, but if fetus is recognized as equivalent to an oocyte or spermatocyte, the entire value of human life becomes both muddled in confusion and laughable. If a sex cell of a parent organism is considered to be alive, why not consider a blood cell or a hair cell? They similarly share the same qualities of any other living cell, but the distinction is found in the uniqueness of a fetus.
