My strongest belief is that education is the foundation for success. Knowledge opens so many doors and opportunities that would not exist without it. The American education system should be no exception to the notion that we live in the “Land of Opportunity,” and each child should have the opportunity to receive a quality education equivalent to their peers regardless of who or where they come from. Through the ED 105 course at Clemson University, the readings from that course, and my field experience working with middle school students I have solidified my views toward the field of education and established personal goals for the type of educator I would like to become in the future.
In 2011, my parents and I came to America. The choice that my parents made had benefited my academic career. I have a better education here and schools in America helped me become a better 2learner. Education is an important part of one’s life. Without a good education, not everyone can achieve their lifelong goals that want to achieve someday. When I was living in India it was much more different studying there. The teachers in India, would not be as tough as the teachers here. Some teachers do not give any effort in wanting to help their students succeed. Eventually, my parents decided to come to America, to get a good career and help me succeed . When I came to America, it was an escape from the education that I was having before.
I am motivated by my dreams, being more success and also living a better life. In the great words of Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’’. So it’s very important to be ahead in life and for me to be focus of my career goals and what I want to accomplish. College also gives you great experience in the fields and real life training, college can also enhance skills set on computers and areas of work that high school didn’t teach you, so it’s important for me to get the education I need. A degree also can provide me with promotions in the near future.
I was born and raised in Haiti and moved to the United States in 2006 for a better education. After completing middle and high school, I decided to attend college. Because I came from a poor country, I am always motivated to strive for greatness. I grew up seeing people struggling and from those circumstances it is embedded in my head that I will not stop reaching for success. Attending Claflin University was the start on my successful journey.
My motivation is that when I came to this country in the 1990s, I was accommodated and given the chance to make mistakes and learn from them. Adapting to the American system was not an easy one regardless of my prior knowledge of the English language. I was faced with some challenges, but now I can take a stand to advocate
Their sacrifice has been my unwavering motivation ever since I came to this country at five years old. Everything I have done, everything I am, and everything I will be has been the result of one decision that forever changed my life. My greatest goal is to one day be able to return this unmeasurable favor in any way I can, and the first step towards that is a great education, a concept that was planted in me at a very young age.
Ever since I can remember I have always been passionate about helping other people, which then sparked my desire to continue my education. As I began to grow older I witnessed my four brothers drop out of high school, and that lead to the expectation
My interest in education was sparked after reading an article "America's broken bootstraps" by George F. Will. The article and my classes led me to learn more about justice and inequality in the United States and discovering the role education plays in perpetuating the system.
The educators working at these schools are motivated to keep their academic performance high in order to
As a young American teenager, it is crucial to get a good education. Education gives anyone the tools to invent, discover and teach to improve society. Taking advantage of educational opportunities will open the minds of young individuals, producing productive members of society. I aim to honor America, by not settling for average, but pushing myself to bring something new to the table to benefit our nation and also the world. With an education to back me up, the choices grow in numbers and to give me a choice to be anything I desire in life. Benefit others and encourage one another to achieve their potential. The ability to improve America with
I want to make a positive and lasting impact on young students who aspire to accomplish great things and wish to stand where I stand now.
Understanding where I have come from and how blessed I have been to have an opportunity to attend college is what drives me to excel academically. It is also what makes me feel I must give back.
What motivates me most to pursue a college degree is opening new doors for career options and inspiring my daughter through my own actions to pursue lifelong learning. I have waited until this point in my life to take this first step for many reasons. I feel that I had a lot of fear of failure that kept me from pursuing this higher learning. I am in the right place mentally at this stage in my life and feel like I can fully invest in this experience and make it truly a success and representation of what I can do. I am also highly motivated by the fact that my career is truly stalled because I am not competition for someone that has equal experience and a degree. I plan to conquer that competition through this process.
I’m also a first generation student and I'm motivated to obtain my Master's in education because is going to benefit me, my family and the community. First, by obtaining this degree I´m going to be able to help my parents financially, since they don’t make a lot of money. Second, college education is going to increase my opportunities in life and it’s going to expand my knowledge by learning and experiencing new things. One of my Career goals as a teacher is to help as many students possible. I'm going execute this by encouraging kids to go further in their education and guide them towards the right path. Another Career goal that I have is to focus on working with Latinos and increase the Latino college graduation
