The classic play, Romeo and Juliet written by the world renowned author, William Shakespeare has and always will be a favorite among countless people around the world. The tall tale describes the ghastly beauty of the adolescent so early in its development, extending Shakespeare’s study of the humiliations and glories of teens. This first-rate piece of literature is educated in a passel of high school classrooms , but the thought of not educating students the works of Shakespeare is anathema to many teachers. However, not all of them think about it that way. The main question is, should this tragic curtain-raiser be taught to adolescents in high school, specifically ninth graders? After much deliberation, the classic play should not be taught to high schoolers for the following reasons; the writing is difficult to comprehend, the storyline is puerile and it teaches negative morals.
