There are disadvantages of large class size: first, it can reduce the time that the students will engage with one another; second, it can increase discipline problems; third, it can reduce the time that the teacher will engage to each student. Grades kindergarten to third grade are not only the ones that would benefit to lower class size, but also students in middle schools and high school. Research states that having lower class size would result to a better discipline record for students. Moreover, it can increase the opportunities of more interactive learning. Reducing the class size would help the teachers provide good lectures that will help the struggling students. With that, students can retain the lessons that are discussed. It will also be easier for the teachers to give instructions to the students. It will lead this to a better academic performance of the students, because students can work effectively and efficiently (Jenkins, 2014).

Since there is a large class size, it would be hard for the teachers to give instructions because there are instances that the students misbehave. When the instructions on a certain activity were not clearly given, the academic performance of the students would not increase.
