‘Alex’s Adventures in Numberland’ forms my current reading. This makes sense as I wish to read Computer Science and Mathematics, believing them to be complementary. I am confident that l am well suited and capable of tackling such a difficult degree as instinctively I lean towards the Scientific - hence Maths, Further Maths and Physics.
With reference to Computer Science, I have been involved in a variety of ways for some time and my enthusiasm has developed at an exponential rate. This interest has been generated particularly through Decision maths, where in I have been exposed to various algorithms and theorems. I am fascinated by its universal challenges and real-life applications such as Chinese Postman problem which concerns Amazon’s
My passion for mathematics was fixed at the age of ten, on the morning that my mathematics teacher told I would be sitting the Junior Maths Challenge, 'as practice for when you are older'. As I nervously started to answer the questions, a whole world began to open before me. I revelled in the problem solving, answering questions of a nature I had not seen before. My teachers were delighted when I emerged from the exam hungry for more. Since then I have consistently demonstrated my aptitude, achieving gold awards through to senior level, and scoring highly in the European Kangaroo.
I am determined to pursue a degree on mathematics, specifically, discrete mathematics. For discrete math and combinatorics and a range of allied fields, Rutgers is one of a small number of best institutions in the world (not just the U.S.). Since that is my main interest at this time, why do I want to transfer away from such a world center of discrete math?
Born and raised in Crete, Greece, I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Before working for Southwestern, I was a graduate student at the University of California at Irvine, where I earned a doctoral degree under the supervision of Dr. Martin Zeman. While living in Greece, I earned a Master’s degree in Logic, Algorithms and Computation from University of Athens.
Five years from now Mr. McClam sees himself finishing up a bachelor’s degree as a software developer or security engineer. Naiyel is planning on increasing his knowledge of mathematics taking calculus algorithms and other mathematics in order to reach his goals of a bachelor’s degree. Naiyel's accomplishments include a recognition award for football and being
Until recently my only source of knowledge regarding mathematics, were the books I could find. I used to live in a small city and couldn’t find anyone willing to teach me the topics I found interesting. Nevertheless, the time I spent exploring
I can continue studying Maths for hours and never get bored. Every question brings a new challenge and solving it enhances my reasoning and logical skills. Similarly Physics has further helped me understand the importance of computers in our daily life whether it’s understanding the velocity of the Pinball or an insight into the cosmology of the universe. I have enjoyed working with this combination of A’ Levels Maths, Physics and Computer Studies as it has advanced my theoretical
I accidentally entered send in earlier email. If you decided to recommend me for 4+1 Program, here are a few things about me.
111353 a number that has labeled me and all my success. This number may not seem like much just a series of six digits, but these few digits have given me a sense of maturity, a level of success, and a feeling of worth. In January of 2015, I was hired as the 111,353 worker at store 214 for IN-N-OUT burger, which in itself seemed as an accomplishment in my eyes being that, had been the first place of business I had ever applied to in my entire life.
I am applying to take maths as I am interested in pursuing a career which involves the subject. I have been considering other courses, but feel that this course is most suitable for me. I have enjoyed doing maths since year six in primary school, whether it be finding the nth term of a sequence to basic sums. From this I suddenly gained a greater interest at the start of year 12 when we started learning about core maths, which influenced my decision to take maths and further maths at AS level to further enhance my knowledge of both subjects.
In the current Queensland syllabus, mathematics is a fundamental part of students’ general education and a subject, which is an essential part of developing sound knowledge. Mathematics is recognised as a subject, which supports many facets of general education and daily life in an increasingly mathematical society. All of these aspects need to be reflected in “future-oriented” teaching and learning, in addition to the inclusion of technology in the
For my bachelor degree, I am required to study arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy. Arithmetic teaches basic calculation methods to measure things accurately. The study of geometry educates the concept of space and shapes, helping us to build a better picture of how buildings such as churches are built. For me, the most interesting subject of all is astronomy. In class, we discuss the position and route of each planet. Personally, I am really interested in astronomer Claudius Ptolemy’s belief that Earth is at the center of the universe. Moreover, Ptolemy inherited Aristotle’s idea of deferent epicycles and advocated the theory of his own. Deferent means the path of the planets which its center is Earth (Jones). The epicycle is every
One of them is doing math problems. It is a pleasure for me to solve those intriguing problems. Every time I solve a problem that was challenging to me, I feel very happy for the self-achievement. Even if it occurs at a deep night, I will get refreshed by the ecstasy. I was only four when I first tasted the sweetness of math. At the high school, this interest has extended to the enjoyment of modeling, because constructing a model is arduous too, whereas a good result brings really a lot of happiness at the end. Much related to modeling, my research problem in 2015 is to construct a
With a strong urge to enhance my quantitative foundation, I finished all my courses in mathematics with high scores, and learned Python and Data Scientists’ Toolbox through Codecademy and
My interest towards mathematics made me to take Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects during my intermediate (10+2). After obtaining 94% marks in Intermediate and securing a top 6% rank in engineering entrance test, I opted for Computer Science Engineering in JNTU College of Engineering. Immediately after my Bachelor’s degree, I secured the job in Wipro Technologies and this offered me numerous opportunities to learn about the technical aspects of Software industry.
Mathematics is a challenging subject but of little practical use. Discuss. On account of the initiation of education in human society, Mathematics has taken possession of in the programme of studies. In the recent past, Mathematics is taken to be the foremost subject than ever before (James Lighthill, Newer Uses of Mathematics). The essence of Mathematics is not only meant for skilled or experienced people but also for the common man. Although, Mathematics is the study of numbers or quantity, it has been a crucial tool in our daily life. Like, making purchases, travelling, taxes, insurance all require mathematical calculations. As a consequence, Mathematics is a prime vehicle for the evolution of logical thinking and other professional skills
