Aengus was a man who went out into the woods and suddenly found love when he caught a trout. This trout turned into to a beautiful girl that he loved. Aengus kept searching for this girl and was determined to succeed. For example, “Though I am old with wandering through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone.” (Yeats para. 3). Aengus was not willing to give up because he knew he had to find this girl. Also, he knew he could not let her go because he needed her and wanted true love. According to the passage, “And someone called me by my name: It had became a glimmering girl with an apple blossom in her hair.” (Yeats para. 3). Aengus was driven by the girl’s beauty and how she had called his name. Therefore, Aengus spent his entire life searching for her. Aengus knew that one day, someday, he would find this girl and that when he did he would “Walk among the dappled grass, and pluck till time and times are done, the silver apples of the moon, the golden apples of the sun.” (Yeats para. 3).

Buck goes from being king like to a wild rebellious dog. Buck goes through this change because men found gold. The men needed dogs like Buck. Buck was half saint Bernard and half scotch-shephard, so he was a gigantic dog and had a thick coat to survive in harsh weather like in the Klondike. So Buck is sold and beat he learns to obey the law of club and fang to be formed into a sled dog, but ends up forming a bond with a man his name was John Thornton . Aengus found a magical girl in a stream. He caught a fish and it later turned into a girl whom he followed his whole life. Aengus risked something too though, and that was his time. He could have done so much with his life but instead he devoted it to find a girl. “Though I am old with wandering… I will find out where she has gone,” (Yeats 17 &19). This text shows that he is old and is still trying to find the girl. “And kiss her lips and take her hands… And walk among long dappled grass,” (Yeats 20 & 21). This show how desperate and dedicated Aengus was to find this girl.
Buck is the main character of this novel. The other animals in the novel are Buck, Curly, Spitz, Dave, Billee, Joe, Sol-leks, Dolly, Pike, Dub, Skeet, and Nig. Buck’s mother was a Scotch Sheppard, and his father was a huge Saint Bernard. Buck was a civilized dog, but answers the call of the wild and becomes one with the wild. Curly was Buck’s companion on the boat trip to the North. Curly is described in the novel as a “good-natured Newfoundland.” Curly does not survive long; however, Buck learns a gruesome lesson when he sees how easily Curly was murdered while trying to be friendly with Spitz. Spitz was the dog that assassinated Curly and becomes Buck’s most bitter enemy. He was terminated later in the novel by Buck in a dog brawl. Buck’s victory entitled him to take over the lead of the dogs that belonged to Spitz. The dog fight illustrated to me Buck’s ability to survive even among the most primitive elements. Dave, Billee, Joe, Sol-leks, Dolly, Pike, and Dub are the other dogs that serve on the dogsled team with Buck. Finally, Skeet and Nig were two of John Thornton’s dogs that he owned before he rescued and adopts
1. Buck - A half St. Bernard and half sheepdog that was kidnapped and sold as a sled dog.
Buck in the book “The Call of the Wild”, goes through many obstacles where he faced getting killed. He was just an ordinary house dog, but was kidnapped by his family’s gambling-addicted gardener. He later is beaten with a bat until he obeys and
In the beginning of the book Buck was thrown into a whole new environment. He was the newby who had plenty of new things to learn. As if it wasn't hard enough the dogs weren't the friendliest and tended to take what wasn't theirs. As soon as Buck began to adapt to his environment he began fighting back leading to him standing up for himself. He began to build strength through this transformation as a result making him much more powerful. This would become his first step toward leadership. The leader at this time was Splitz, who I think found Buck as a threat because he knew he had great potential of being a leader. Buck was the only on in the pack who matched Splitz in strength. Meaning splitz was just waiting for a fight to pick with Buck, a fight to the death. Buck wasn't scared, I know this because Buck was brave. Buck first showed his bravery against the man in the red sweater who beat Buck with a club and yet Buck never let that phase him. Very soon Buck would show this strength and bravery. Slowly equality began to be shown to him and Splitz from the rest of the pack. At the same time the dogs didn't really fear splitz anymore either in fact they even began bullying him. The day came when a fight to the death would occur between Buck and the fierce
In The Call of The Wild, Buck is kidnapped and sold by a gambling obsessed man, and has to persevere as he's forced to be a sled dog. One of the examples of his perseverance is the beginning of his adventure. Buck is approached by the gardener Manuel, and as soon as Buck realizes he is up to no good he is kidnapped. He is then beaten by a club until he
First, he starts to form a rebellion against the alpha of the dog sled team. For example, Buck begins to sabotage the dogsled team’s unity by inciting them to disobey Spitz, slowing down the team’s progress. Since he forms a rebellion, he becomes more unlike himself and more uncivilized. Second, Buck begins to howl like he was a wild animal. For example, he begins to instinctively howl with the rest of the dogs on his team at 9 pm, midnight, and 3 am. Since he starts to howl he slowly becomes wild like wolves. Third, Buck joins a wolf pack, which he becomes the alpha of. For example, Buck is attacked by a wolf pack, he fends them off then is accepted into the pack which he eventually becomes the alpha of and leads as the legendary Ghost Dog. Since, he becomes the leader of a wolf pack he has to act uncivilized and wild to survive. In conclusion, Buck’s mental thinking changes for the

And pluck till time and times are gone”(Aengus, line 18-22). This means that he is very old and still looking for her till time ends. People who are finding someone they love or something they love they never give up trying. To conclude, true love is a desire and always need
