Abstract
This assignment presents one of the major environmental issues in Japan, air pollution. The major causes and impacts of Japan air pollution will be addressed and highlighted in details; air pollution have its significant health implication on humans, as well as the environment, the effects and damages may extend beyond any measure of tolerance. Numerous sustainable solutions were proposed by the government or the individuals. This assignment discussed these different solution along with it implications.
Introduction
Over hanging smog is one of the major signs of air pollution in a city. Air pollution presence differ from city to another, air pollutant can be classified as well in terms of its visibility, visible or

The industrial development not only affected Japan natural beauty was destroyed as the price for this development but as well Japan air but as a result for this growth.
Japan cities were the first line in for this economical change by the government with the Meiji Restoration in 1868, mass production becomes the new age of mechanized factories policy, as a result of this industrial change, air pollution started to impact the Japanese society and become a social concern, air pollution by particulates, had the major impact on all surrounding environment and human, including the ones that catering the factories machine productions. Particulates were recognized as serious issue in Osaka, where many large factories were established between 1870s and 1880s, Osaka was recognized as one of the largest industrial cities but also as "Smoke Capital" (The History of Japan's Air Pollution, 2005).
Osaka citizens started taken apposition actions immediately as the pollution moved from affecting air and water to affect their crop yields, fish catches and caused many other damages to individual citizens. Osaka citizens demanded for the government to either to shut down the factories which are responsible for the pollution or to move them outside the city into the suburb, they also demanded that victims of the pollution were entitled to suitable compensations for the damage that was caused.
Another big problem in polluting places and things is air pollution which can make air foggy, unbreathable, and toxic. According to “34 Facts about Pollution”, the text states breathing the air in Mumbai, India, for just one day is equivalent to smoking 100 cigarettes. One of the things that can cause air pollution is releasing factory fuels and fossil fuels into the air. We also cause it from burning certain things like plastic, chemicals, and other
Since human’s activity, pollution becomes a big problem in the world. There are a lot of part of pollutions include water pollution, light pollution and air pollution. Air pollution is happened in our life. The United States is also a victim of air pollution. In 1943, Los Angeles photochemical smog event occurred. The whole of Los Angeles was covered with smoke. There are about 400 people died and a lot of fruits in orchards began to wither.
Globally, many countries are increasingly feeling the effects of environmental degradation. This has been occasioned by the increasingly evident effects of poor environmental conservation policy. There are currently taking the brunt of environmental degradation that has been occasioned by rapid the industrialization that has occurred both within and out of the country. “Air pollution has been at fault for a significant portion of the country’s environmental problems. Studies have identified the country’s economic boom as major contributor to this (Jitendra and Tanvi, 42)”. In East Asia, yellow dust it calls “Asian dust” is the biggest issue, which is mostly influenced by China’s industrialization and coal burning electrical generating plants. The main issue concerning South Korea and Japan is the air pollution caused by China's rapid economic growth crossing the boundaries into these two countries, it is blown from China to Korea and Japan causing hazardous air pollution. There causes many problems, it occurs respiratory problems, an increase in incidence of acid rain, highway accidents, and forcing many residents to stay home. Also, dust will enter a human’s mouth and organ which will cause respiratory problems through inhalation. “Air pollutants are gaseous or particulate matter which that have an impact on human health and natural ecosystems” (Lee, Adeel, 134).
Although thought to be “not a big problem” and “under control” by most people, pollution is making its way in being a serious and an unforgiving threat to society. Pollution a topic everyone hears and knows exists. What they don’t know is how serious of a problem it is already becoming. Many health issues are being reported now that are linked to air pollution and even the most severe weather places have encountered are linked to air pollution also. By society, not fully being aware of the true threat that pollution is making, it will only become a growing threat that they will be encountering.
The Tokugawa Shogunate era was a period of significant growth and change in Japanese society. There were two major catalysts that led to this development in Japan. Firstly, economic growth occurred due to a transformation within the agricultural sector. Merchant driven trade and market activity saw drastic changes in the work of the peasants. They moved from their agricultural land to the major cities. Trade increase led to the the creation of an effective and reliable transportation systems that allowed for Western and Eastern parts of Japan to trade. Improvements to the road systems and shipping networks were expanded under Tokugawa's rule. The influx of the population of Japanese in the city served as a major impetus for growth and change because the old notions of a static, agrarian-based economy were substituted for a well structured
In this research paper, i will focus on What is air pollution?, What is causing air pollution?,What is the current air quality condition? What are the effects of air pollution on United States. I will discuss what are the changes in the Earth’s climate and weather and the ways of prevention
There have been different diseases caused by air pollution from lung cancer to breathing problems such as asthma and in worse cases death. Pollution is caused from dangerous chemical experiments, smoke from factories and daily human activities. Two of the many ways to eliminate air pollution is by recycling things like paper, plastic, cardboards, cans. This saves energy and the production emission is reduced. Also by informing people on ways they can individually help their communities by doing simple acts such as turning off electrical appliances when not in use. It's our responsibility to take care of mother
Before there were any factories, large corporations, major industries, or even transportation, the atmospheric quality of this planet was in far greater shape. Environmental pollution was never even a factor to stress over. Since the revolution of major industries, large factories, power plants, as well as some of the world’s most advanced technology, environmental pollution has crept up to the top of the list of global climate concerns. Environmental pollution is one of the greatest issues facing the world today and as the years pass, this issue will become more threatening. The subject of his paper is to discuss environmental pollution as an issue, preventing pollution in everyday
The result was an urban craze for things Western, from men’s haircuts to drinking milk, from the solar calendar to ballroom dancing.5 By providing a new environment of political and financial security, the government made possible investment in new industries and technologies. This allowed the government to build basic infrastructures that helped modernize the nation. Japan developed factories because raw materials could now be imported. Military advancement was achieved by forming a strong army. Education became a big part of the nation.
The Economic boom from factories connection to air pollution is unconventional. The reason factories stay open is only for the monopoly it has over monetary distress. The economical perspective affects the health concerns beyond a doubt. Nearly 5-6 million people die every year due to an illness related to air pollution. The pollution is tremendously bad in China, which the people of China have to stay inside their homes with the windows shut at all times. China has faced their first “red alert” which has put a halt to usage of motor vehicles, and factories stopped operation. People all over the world are suffering from air pollution, some cases worse than others. Urbanization constantly grows each year which contributes to air pollution which has an immense impact on the
In the past few decades, Japan has experienced a rapid growth with various problems associated with urbanization. Japan has also been facing declining birthrate, aging population, poverty, and overcoming deflation. Urbanization has enabled economic growth but it has contributed to climate change, pollution, congestion, and the growth of slums. Also Social and Economic development cannot be achieved without addressing global warming and other environmental issues. Due to these problems, Japan has passed several laws to implement urbanization policies and city growth management programs that primarily target regional balance in growth and concentration. On top of this Japan has worked its way to reform its economic and social issues.
Sadly, the Japanese government decided to industrialize rapidly and did not foresee any of the problems that would ensue. With the government owning and operating multiple industries, the government was quickly spending too much money on maintaining these industries. The responsibility of maintaining these industries proved to be too strenuous upon the economy of the Japanese government, as Tessa Morris Suzuki points out in The Technological Transformation of Japan “By the early 1880s the costs of industrial investment were imposing immense strains on the budget and fueling the fires of spiraling inflation.” Thus the Japanese government was forced to sell their industries to private enterprises for a fraction of what they cost just to break somewhat even. Once the private enterprises gained control of these industries, the future of these industries began to turnaround because of the simple fact that the government had trained the workforce on how to use and operate the machinery and had educated the working population in industries. By having an educated workforce at their disposal, the private enterprises were set up for success and soon would see large amounts of profits being made. What made the private enterprises successful was the fact that the Japanese private
In this essay I would like to discuss the serious existing environmental problem- the air pollution - and to explore its aspects as well as to provide possible solutions I see for the resolution of this particular environmental problem.
Japan in modern times is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. This “modern” image that Japan hasn’t been around forever, Japans decision to change from an old traditional country to a westernised one came in 1868, and it took only 50 years for the improvements to be made. In order to
Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. It is a major problem in America and as well as the world. Pollution not only damages the environment, but damages us also. It has cause many problems ranging from lung cancer to the greenhouse effect. It is all among us but we continue to live in our own filth. What is the reason behind this flawed logic? In this paper I will examine the problems and solutions for this issue.
