Flight Of The Amazon Queen takes place in the 1940’s and is the story about Joe King, pilot for hire. His latest job is to take a famous actress to her photo shoot but on route manages to crash land his plane in the middle of the Amazon. This triggers a massive adventure filled with phantom primates, 6ft tall pygmies, Amazon woman, dinosaurs and a whole lot more weirdness. As you can see in the tradition of the best B-movies this game doesn’t take itself too seriously. After playing this game for a while it becomes very clear that classic Lucasarts titles like Monkey Island and Indiana Jones had a big influence on it. Even the interface is reminiscent of early SCUMM engine games with your selection of actions and inventory along the bottom of the screen. This looks a bit dated compared to recent titles which uses the entire screen to display the graphics. Speaking of which the graphics in Amazon Queen isn’t too bad and there are plenty of varied locations to explore. The game starts out with Joe trapped in a hotel rooms with some goons guarding the exit and right of the bat you’ll …show more content…
There are loads of characters to talk to and most of them have something funny to say. One of the great things about this game is the fact that you cannot die nor do something wrong which allows you to explore and try out everything without fear of wasting something or getting stuck in a dead end. None of the puzzles are overly obscure either and while there are none that really stand out as impressive I was stumped a few times. The game definitely features some of the strangest things you’ll ever see in a game characters inventory. Towards the end the game becomes very Indiana Jones-ish with Joe exploring an ancient trap filled temple. This reminded me strongly of Indies’ adventures in Atlantis. Other locations like the valley of the dinosaurs show a bit more
Overall I found the movie to be quite interesting and exciting at times but a bit slow in others. The story itself was very clear to me and didn’t cause any confusion. It had a good flow also, just as you were on the verge of falling into boredom with a scene they switched it up on you to keep you
This book was all in all a “good read” (get it?). I loved the concept of the book and the general story of the book also. It had a couple of good characters here and there that brought a lot of new story and energy into the book such as Rusty who brought a lot of energy, and Debbie who brought a ton of new story that we wouldn't expect.
The characters in this book are just what you'd expect them to be. You have your no-nonsense captain, Rynah, with an impossibly bad attitude who acts tough but really she's just scared. You have the philosopher who spouts out fortune-cookie comments whenever it's relevant and the massive hulking warrior who is all about pride and honor and fight-to-the-death and MAN! things. Possibly the only one who actually has some depth and I actually believe to behave like a real person would is Tom, the inventor. He really seems to pull his weight, takes everything in stride, is excited to learn and explore but is also terrified when he needs to
Despite it being the most confusing and hard to understand movie that I’ve ever seen, I like the idea of it. All of these characters that are connected with other in different times. I experienced many different emotions while watching it. Adam Ewing’s storyline felt like I was watching a slavery film. He was the good guy and ended up befriending a slave while Dr. Goose was the bad guy trying to kill him and his father-in-law was another bad guy who was a racist and worked in the slave trade. Robert Frobisher’s storyline for me was quite sad as we had seen his fate at the very beginning of the movie. Luisa Rey’s storyline for me was very intriguing. Her story involved investigating and solving a mystery, which made me feel as though I was watching police show on television. Timothy Cavendish’s storyline for me was extremely funny. That really is all there is to say about it.
The dialogue for the most part is sharp, and reveals insight about the characters. The dialogue contains subtexts. However, there is a tendency to repeat dialogue as a joke, and it becomes tedious. For example, Kaitlan saying “I hate you” occurs too many times to the point the joke fall flat. Plant it in the first act and pay it off near the end when Nana says, “Me too.”
As a counterpoint to how focused the action is, the narrative wobbles along on clichés and spy tropes. The events aren’t terribly inventive or surprising; the premise is effectively identical to that of Just Cause 2, except Medici is Rico’s home. But even if the plot isn’t that clever, what really surprised me is how genuinely entertaining the writing is; the characters are genuinely entertaining and spout often-clever action-movie-esque one-liners, further creating a sense of almost-parody.
Airplane! (titled Flying High! in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan and the Philippines) is a 1980 American satirical parody film directed and written by David and Jerry Zucker as well as Jim Abrahams,[4] and produced by Jon Davison. It stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty and features Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lorna Patterson.[4] The film is a parody of the disaster film genre, particularly the 1957 Paramount film Zero Hour!, from which it borrows the plot and the central characters,[5] as well as many elements from Airport 1975. The film is known for its use of surreal humor and its fast-paced slapstick comedy, including visual and verbal puns and gags.
The storyline may sound cliché but believe me it is not. I found this novel to be excitingly refreshing as well as thought provoking. Full of twists and turns keeping me on the edge of my seat wondering where will this all lead when the clues lead to the impossible and it’s up to Jack to unweave the mystery. The characters are dimensional, deeply rich with personality making them believable. Add them to an amazing storyline and you have an outstanding thriller. This is one page-turner lovers of suspense will not want to
For the most part, it sounds crisp and has a nice rhythm. The voices of the characters are consistent with their personalities and reveals information about them.
The setting feels authentic to the time period and to the culture. The characters are likable and seem to be castable, especially Kane. The action sequences are nicely crafted.
The game starts with a staggering 2,360 levels with more to be added after launch. Be fair warned, however, as the $19.99 price will increase with added content so it might be best to snag a copy now. The other side of this game’s depth comes from the level editor. User-created levels have already been shared online and they range from tortuous to artsy. They’re nicely organized into different categories like: Best, Newest, Hardest, Made by Friends, etc. The community aspect of the game is beautifully realized and you can have hours of fun sharing and competing with strangers and/or friends.
The entire top screen is devoted to the action while the bottom displays Pac-Man looking way too happy. There are a few moves to master like flicking Pac-Man for a speed boost but overall the controls are very simple. There are a few boss battles but these are all showdowns again Garvis. Along the way you will be able to unlock the original Pac-Man game which is nice but at this point an almost obligatory inclusion in games starring the yellow mascot. Some added longevity is injected by allowing players to reply levels against a time limit or with specific challenges like finding a certain amount of dots. While this is a solid title it can become a bit repetitive & the difficulty spike partway through the game is quite jarring.

The movie is generally known as one of the best in the world that were meant for children to watch. This shows how open-minded and creative Karel Zeman was. Because the movie was produced when there are not much highly advanced equipment in the production of films like in this present time. This shows that restrictions motivates originality in the production of Arts. The movie is totally different and has a delightful style. Which I find it amusing. The creatures were made in all diversities such as stop-motion characters, two-dimensional animated cut-outs, small and large puppets. The concept of four boys traveling the prehistoric eras is a good storyline. It is all about discovery, which is educational. In my opinion, I find the movie artistically
