The outcome of the American Dream had first come well known when James Truslow Adams stated, “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement” (McQuade), without the weight of a different social class or the circumstances of birth resulting in a part of the decision. His meaning was based around the thoughts on Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness that was first seen in the Declaration of Independence; which proclaims, “all mean are created equal” (McQuade). Organizations, such as: Black Lives Matter, National Organizations for Women (NOW), International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Association (ILGA), and American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are doing anything and everything in their power to ensure American citizens are given the rights they are promised and respectfully deserve. For example, the American Civil Liberties Union has been “our nation’s guardian of liberty, working in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and the laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country” (ACLU). These organizations are generating the sense of hope the American Dream is still achievable with hard work and dedication. Despite our ever-changing society, our infrastructure of the American Dream is still strong. We, as a nation, have marginally veered away from the original ideals of the American Dream; nevertheless, the American Dream is still achievable for any American willing to work for
