A land of safety, liberty, and pure happiness is all America standards. America provides a residency full of freedoms. It was a popular place to seek a new beginning. Many people came to the country to find something they had always longed for. They only saw America for its dream.

The american dream which is idolized by all the world, is an ethos ideology that guarantees the opportunity towards prosperity and success, and an upward social mobility for family and children, achieved through hard work in a society with few speed bumps along the way. The term “American Dream” is defined as an idea which believes that all people have the possibility of prosperity and success. The idea first came from James Adams, a noted American writer and historian. He claimed, “Life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability and achievement.” Therefore, the core concepts of the American Dream were closely linked to hard work and opportunity.

The American dream is the idea held by many in the United States of America that through hard work, courage and determination one can achieve prosperity.

The American Dream can mean different things depending on who is asked. Some will answer it is the freedom of religion, class or race, others will claim it is about the ability to choose where they want to work, what they want to wear, or what’s for breakfast the next day.

American Dream: Every women and men should have the opportunity to achieve their goals and their dreams, no matter of their social class or their ability.

We’ve all heard of the American Dream, and it probably makes us each think of something slightly different, but yet it still follows similar lines. “The dream has developed as a part of the American myth- a collective self-portrait that justifies the nation’s exceptionality on the account of the belief in equality and liberty. (Martausová, 242)” On the same page, she also says that it is “a perception of life by its indestructible vitality for onward movement.” I think that these two statements capture the general idea of the American Dream: equality, liberty and personal progression in the world.
